Funny story. Piano tuner was telling me of guy who had an EV and wasn't charging at his home. Came out and found a lady charging her car. He asked what she thought she was doing. She said she was just charging her car up. He pointed out that it was his house not a charging station. She was shocked that he wasn't thrilled with her charging and getting the free invisible magic that makes her car go. She then confessed that she was visiting next door and with the cold when she went to leave she didn't have enough of the invisible magic to even get her to the next charging place. :rollno:

that is funny…..pretty amazing that with solar you can literally not spend a dime on fuel…..
that said, having a hard time getting used to the hybrid….it friggin’ runs Windows for god’s sake!…..what are you? a car or a computer?…..
got so ticked off this morning, didn’t know you can’t unplug the car from the charger unless it’s unlocked…:banghead: so I just opened the passenger rear window and threw the charger in there with the plug still in the receptacle and drove the darn thing like that…..people looked but once they saw me me, nodded and smirked…..

I didn't use it for a long time as it had a pretty significant volume drop and cut some bass, but a couple years back I modded it for better low frequency response and higher output (as well as working off a power supply), and it's stayed on my board ever since. Sounds fantastic, usually keep it set around 1-2 o' clock. The only other phaser I've looked at is the Maxon PH-350 Rotary Phaser, but they are silly expensive and hard to find these days. Luckily PastFX released an updated take on it, may have to snag one of those.

That's interesting. Every phaser I've tried got louder when engaged and bass was lower or more noticeable, at least at certain points in the sweep.

I had one for a few years. It sounded really nice at home, but with a band it just disappeared, if not made it somewhat muddy. It was a Boss Bass Chorus so it should have sounded good. Likely user ignorance.

I would have been tempted you say "I'm sorry you clearly made a unwise decision on a coal powered car, but my invisible magic isn't free." But in reality I would have felt sorry for her and let her charge. While maybe casually discussing the pros and cons of EVs while she waited as a captive audience.....;)

:roflmao: Dude, I can picture than in my mind! Modern Cheach and Chong scene maybe!

My wife has work friend who got a Tesla rental in FL. They always get convertible Mustangs. The Tesla was an "upgrade" they were told. The had funny stories like that. I've heard people talk about what steps you have to go through to do "X" and good grief you need a cheat sheet at times or you create other problems. I'm not against them at all and if someone wants one that's great. Hybrids really make the most sense to me. But seems most who have full EVs don't get them again. One day the technology will be there (if hydrogen or something like that doesn't toss batteries to the side).
