GK is good stuff, if I were going to buy solid state again it would be GK.

I'm curious about Orange bass amps. Anyone use one?
I'm actually getting a custom amp built. For less than the Orange costs new.Yeah, they do seem quite expensive. And nothing ever sounds as good to me as GK amps, plus they're really not expensive. I AM curious about Darkglass' new amp, but I'm perfectly happy with my GK and Darkglass B3K pedal. It's attached to my tuner anyway.
Don't fret! It'll get better.I'm already falling apart. Neck is all screwed up today.
I am using an Orange OB-1 500 through an SWR 1x15 and an Earcandy 1x12. It is a solid state amp (which I prefer) and has a an overdrive channel. Great clean tone, cool distorted tone than can run anywhere from "lightly pushed" to "crazy overdrive".
Being solid state, it has a different overdrive tone that I like. Using the my T-bird, with Lollar pick-ups and adding overdrive when needed it sounds pretty good to my ears....
Here is a link to an online demo. Not for everyone but hey, if I wanted to be like everyone else, I would play a tort, P-Bass w/ flats..
Read the book, it is wonderful. Sad as a mother, but wonderful. Bob Mould's biography is another must-read.I just came across this article. You might enjoy it if you haven't already seen it. Excerpt from new book on the band. It mentions Bob's sad story. Inside the Replacements' Disastrous 'SNL' Debut
Holy crap! You people know Guadalcanal Diary? I love the "Walking with" album.Ah yes, "Watusi Rodeo"! "Come along with me to the Congo land . . ."
I recently put 2x4 on the turntable since I hadn't heard it in forever. Couldn't believe how much it sounded like REM.Holy crap! You people know Guadalcanal Diary? I love the "Walking with" album.
Did you purchase your Earcandy cab directly from Tim? He seems like such a good guy. He reminds me a bit of "our very own" @Dadagoboi, a skilled craftsman who is good enough to share their expertise with folks because they like being a collegial member of a musical community (difference being that Tim makes amp cabs).I am using an Orange OB-1 500 through an SWR 1x15 and an Earcandy 1x12. A a good bird day, to you sir. Congrats!
I thought for sure it was going to be a pic of the 2015 model you mentioned the other day.
That's the spirit! And so principled too. Being the vacuous person that I am, hedonism and self-indulgence rule. So, satiating my GAS IS goal-oriented behavior.drool Maslow be damned. Not yet. There are goals to accomplish. But, if things go well in the next couple of months, it could be mine. I am not too worried about it going anywhere. It has been hanging there for the better part of a year.

I was debating on picking that up it was a good price but that thumb rest really turned me off. Nice buy though.
There was also a chromed out Pelham blue non-reverse about the same time that I was eyeing. In the end, I had reservations on that. But a white reverse (as @TBird1958 points out) is just sexy. Even if it breaks my "not white, not black, not grey" rule. Come to think of it, half my basses break that rule, but the ones that do are really something special.

Both my thunderbirds break 1 of those rules each. A white Thunderbird is the most beautiful thing ever. I'm not big on the burst on tbirds
Did you go and pick that up or have it shipped. Noticed you're near me and I'm near where that was for sale, just curious.
You and me both man. I was fully prepared to buy a head today but something was wrong with it. Saved me from getting killed by my wife tho, so there is that "silver lining".![]()
