Thunderbird Club

Nice! I have a set of Decolas - not sure what they’re going in yet…
I have a 2015 Thunderbird and a 2013 EB with DeColas. One day, maybe I'll get around to setting them both up with the same strings to see what difference the ash/maple vs. mahogany construction makes. If you hold your breath waiting for me to do that, you will turn blue. So there's that.

I have two sets of Ken Smiths to put on the 2001 and Flamingo to see what differences there are between the 2001 pickups and Thunderbuckers on the Flamingo. Any bets on when that will ever happen? I have been too busy flogging the Flamingo with EBCFs and enjoying having flats on that bass. I'm doing a fair amount of stuff that requires long slides. Flats are a whole lot nicer for that purpose.

Doesn’t the EB have the pickups in different positions than the Tbird?

I'm in a psychedelic space rock band that incorporates elements of trance, dub, kraut rock, metal, and funk. We play extended pieces that launch with structure, depart into improve space and then eventually re-enter with structure. We typically play 2-3 30-40 minute sets with out stopping.
That sounds like a complete blast to do.

Ok I just emailed that Nigerian Prince that promised I would get a huge payout if I sent him $64k. Ok I did so where’s my ROI? Ha!
Plus…Is Mintest a real word?

All kidding aside very nice Bass if real! Others here will know if this is a realistic fair price.
Oops I just hit Buy it Now with no returns‼️
I'm absolutely convinced that one is a refin. Look at the picture of the control cavity. The finish in the control cavity is yellowed and checked looking while the adjacent finish on the bass is all smooth and new looking. It may well have been white when it was new, so there's that. But I don't think it's original. If it was, Geddy would have bought it already.

I bought the Lull NRT4 from another Matt who lives near me in the SF Bay Area. It was built in 2013 by Mike Lull and it looks like its been living under someone's bed for 10 years; this guitar is literally as if brand new. I've been playing FSOs for most of my music playing life and buying this guitar was a departure from my FSO playing ways. I truly am smitten. I think it sounds terrific in a different way from my other main players - a Fender P and a Nordy vJ5. It's tone is rounder, warmer, tastier to my ears. I also think it looks cool as hell, especially for my current project, psy-space rock music.
Give us some info on the project and let us know when you’ll be playing out. I drove up last month to catch @Ringhammer at Hotel Utah and had a great time hanging with him and a couple other members here.

Welcome. Hide your wallet from this club. They will make you spend money and you won't even know that it happened. :)
I don’t know what you’re complaining about Glenn. You have the Midas touch when it comes to picking up Thunderbirds at ridiculously low prices! The rest of us need some of your good fortune.

I'm curious how different the DeColas sound from the TB+, all else being equal.
