Thunderbird Club

Sorry to hear about your Jam. It is officially unsupported? My 96k is listed to still work, but I can't find the USB cable for it right now.

What do you like about the IK stuff over Apogee?

Their stuff seemingly doesn't go obsolete with MacOS and IOS updates. In fact you can buy the original IRig along with newer updated models to this day without any bulletins that the stuff has gone obsolete. Apogee on the other hand has bulletins on OS compatibility for different products. Nothing against Apogee, they have great products, but I now have three that no longer work, unless I use a pre-Catalina Mac or a Pre-Iphone 12.

Just remembered that my original MIC may be obsolete as well-

I want whatever the GC web guys are having. And it isn’t April 1st.

We’ve seen this before. I don’t know if they just never fixed it or if
someone messed up again. Someone on the Thunderbird FB page posted it.
I have an almost unbelievable GC story: I called the one closest to me and asked the guy who answered if they had any black strap buttons(I needed to take the straplocks offa my LPB2/5). He asked me to hold, went and checked, and found a set. He put them aside and I drove up there and got them.
A helpful GC employee. Amazing.

Cool, thanks. Because of Amazon's free returns, I have both a Jam X and iRig HD X coming to check out. Really, whichever allows me to hear myself in real time while recording into GarageBand (no latency) wins. If I understand it correctly, the Jam X has the Blend feature to minimize latency, and the iRig has the output jack to go to the amp, so in theory I can turn off monitoring in GB and listen to myself through my amp.

He must be new.

My dad had one of those when I was in high school. My girlfriend at the time and I spent a lot of time going places in that car. It ran when my Triumph didn't, plus it had a metal top, not one that would blow off at any speed above 25 mph.

Your car, my bass!

That's not my car, unfortunately. Not that I'm complaining about the one I do have. Mine is yellow and a convertible. Painting a Thunderbird Hertz Equipment yellow like my car might work. It also might not.

My AXE IO has the blend feature as well. Nice about the AXE is it’s the only DAW interface I know of that will take expression pedals to run wah and similar plugin pedals. Speaking of the IRig I recently got the iRig USB, the middle cost one of the three currently available. All I had to do for that one was to buy a USB C female to Lightning make to accommodate my iPhone 12 and first Gen iPad Pro.

He is if he didn't call GP "Boss."

But good to hear a good story from GC. I'm sure they all aren't like a good number we seem to encounter.

Nice!!

Yes I remember him mentioning in our phone conversations that he currently played a Mike Lull Precision and a Jazz. Nice guy- we talked a bit about the music industry in the 70's and he mentioned meeting Kiss at record company office in Manhattan. But one of the spicier accounts was of TKO members brawling with those of April Wine on the way in our out of the football stadium passageway during a tour with them. I won't go into the details as two why- perhaps you can connect with Evan again. I had heard that he sold the store after a bout with cancer and was spending time in Europe doing reunion gigs or something similar.

Evan did survive cancer, he's in Grant's Pass OR now, his partner at BassNW, Chad Beeler, has The Bass Shop | Selected Used and Vintage Bass Guitars

I wish I had not clicked that link. I’ve mentioned I might want to try a fiver after picking up the Breedlove acoustic from George a few months back and finding that I liked the added range. That Lull NT5 is really nice.

This one..........

It's only money, just "add to cart" :D

I will say that I think basses Mike built will go up in value in the future.
