from the vibe of that shot (killer btw) looks that show was a blast…..:bassist:

It was a blast, the culmination of a strange year for the band. We started it with a different guitarist and as I had mentioned things were a bit of a struggle through all of the shows, too many equipment failures onstage, tuning problems, breaking strings, bad cords etc - We had to fire her, and it was a big relief to do so actually, her replacement, Rachel, joined us with only three weeks and three rehearsals to learn 50 songs. Rachel really stepped up to the plate and played a great show, it was still a bit stressful at first but we all settled down and it turned into a fun night, at least until Sophia fell onstage ( She's not as graceful as she thinks she is!) and broke her wrist in a couple places! To her credit, she stuck it out and finished that set and the rest of the show with a large and painful lump growing on her left hand. Almost epic, but it's the shared experience that brings a band together and makes it gel, and that finally happened for us with this show.

With everything that could go wrong going wrong - this year will hopefully be a clean slate with smooth sailing. Really sorry to hear about Sophia's wrist - I'm still dealing with residual pain/discomfort having fractured my left wrist. Is her wrist still in a cast?

AFAIK she's still got a cast, we took some time off for several reasons, I needed a break from what had become weekly rehearsals for most of last year ( I'm enjoying playing again but it was getting out of hand, and I have a "life" outside my job and the band) plus our drummer flew back to Argentina for a couple weeks, I needed to deal with yearly inventory at my job as well. Lastly Sophia had to have a breast reduction surgery a week ago as she was having related health issues, so we're set to start rehearsing again on 2/3 with some new material including "Rain" by The Cult, "Everybody want to rule the world", Run Runaway by Slade, "Fantasy" by Aldo Nova and "Shipping up to Boston" by The Dropkick Murphys.
For bookings it's already looking good, we have shows at two large Casinos booked for March and April, Pt. Angeles in May and at least two Pride shows in June. It'll be a busy year!

biampable too…not a bad sounding box..sounds good with ss heads as well..

I can’t say enough good things about my Genz-Benz shuttle 9.2. It would be perfect for it…

I really do need to get another 9.2 or a 12 and I’d sell every other amp.

as much as I love my pf50t I’d sell it.

Killer Pic. What Bird is that one?

It's an Epiphone Vintage Pro with a wrap - first generation with big tuners, it has Gibson Non Reverse pickups in it. It's a good, sturdy player, took it to a lot of shows and it didn't disappoint. The neck is slightly bigger than my Gibsons so it isn't always a go-to bass around the house.

For a minute I thought I saw a large crack in the body of your T-Bird! Ha!
Your Band looks like lot of fun! If I ever get out to the Seattle area I will check out The Nasty Habits!

What do ya'll think of our new band name, "Cryptid"? Our logo will feature a Sasquatch. "Honest John" just didn't pan out.
I'm not good with names. The last one I came up we used and I cringe every time I think of it. That said, I kind of like it. Doesn't have that lounge act name sound.

Cryptid John. (The honest Sasquatch!)
