Or cause a black hole and warp light, space and time. I wouldn't stand next to it for that reason. It generates enough power to use gravitational lensing.

works well when in a pinch or when broke......bonus is, they don't need to stretch...That's always been my thinking--just not worth it for the marginal(?) and short-term(?) advantage, but I thought what the heck. Water and the gas stove are pretty cheap, so I got to wondering since I've never tried it. I appreciate your thinking.
Thanks for the info. Fortunately the set I was thinking of has no silks! Easy enough to try.coil them in a small pot (8 to 10" diam) and cover with water buy keep the silks above the water level, bring to a boil and let them boil for a minute or two.....air dry..
they'll sound new but fade quickly.....just my method when I was too lazy to go to the store..

But don't add a little EVOO or pinch of salt, right?![]()
Soaking in a tube of Methyl Hydrate (called that here) will clean the gunk out and restore brightness. I used to prolong the life of RS66 sets that way, but it doesn't fix the flat spotsInstead of doing the stupid thing and searching...didn't a couple of you boil or otherwise clean some rounds? Chuck and Irv, I'm thinking. Chuck mentioning boiling and Irv some kind of alcohol (not that kind Stealth), in a tube?
I've got a set I might like to try to breath a little life in before too long to see how it goes. I don't think I have any PVC around, but will coiling and boiling or soaking in something work well enough to take time to do it?
I saw George Follmer race one of those at Mid Ohio in the 1970s. In his hands, it didn't matter what it was, it was a weapon. He never finished a race without body damage somewhere.they race those in Laguna….loud and fast!..
I live about a mile away from Mike & Mike. So there's that, too. The basement isn't nearly as well stocked as a real music store. And, Mike & Mike is a few blocks away from the Fremont Troll, so there's that, too.I’m sure the plan will be not rushed at all.
The machining to get three superchargers to sprout like that is a marvel of digital engineering.I bet they tow that for show. He probably fires up the engines to show it off but I agree no way you could see out the front window!
Maybe some olive oil, just to get that smooth feel. Thanks for the info. Fortunately the set I was thinking of has no silks! Easy enough to try.

Somebody say Thunder Hill?I saw George Follmer race one of those at Mid Ohio in the 1970s. In his hands, it didn't matter what it was, it was a weapon. He never finished a race without body damage somewhere.
I thought Laguna had noise restrictions. Maybe that's Willow Springs. Thunder Hill does not, appropriately enough. It has some blind crests in corners, kind of like a junior Corkscrew. Beats me what it's like in a car. On the bike, it sure is fun once you get over the idea that you just have to trust that the pavement will be where you are aimed.
from the vibe of that shot (killer btw) looks that show was a blast…..Wednesday!

Thanks for the information. But to be clear, don't use and boil in isopropyl alcohol, right?*Soaking in a tube of Methyl Hydrate (called that here) will clean the gunk out and restore brightness. I used to prolong the life of RS66 sets that way, but it doesn't fix the flat spots. I usually just buy new sets now.
I tried it on a set of Fender flats a few years ago and they sounded like they were new.
yeah, but we like our chicken fried not boiled...that would imply some kind of pasta, thought Kentucky was just about chicken....

I boil mine in BBQ sauce for that authentic Texas tone.
you may be on to something there….I mean, if you can deep fry bologna sandwiches and snickers bars……yeah, but we like our chicken fried not boiled.![]()
