wonder if it’s not more for geopolitical (China +1) issues than quality ones….
The boots you mentioned a while back, the Ariat's that I wear mainly around the house were made in C. Very nice boot. Corners are cut on materials lie the sole and the way they are made (part of their intended approach to d things differently), compared to my two pair of Dan Post or Tony Lama's I recently bought. But they are very well made and did well on the details. Which one's will be around in 20+ yrs? I won't care if I could care!

That looks really good.
But those tuners gotta be replaced.

I don't mind them, looks like the headstock is smaller than that boat paddle on the VP.

That’s a nice looking bass. $50 more but includes a bag. I wonder how good the bag is. I’d have Irv do a black with chrome decal TR cover and a black with chrome decal PG and maybe swap the knobs for black or silver.
Great minds think alike! It needs a black pickguard. If they are made in a different factory, best not assume the pickguard will match the VP.

The plan was to possibly all of mine to BEAD, but so far only the bolt-on has gone that route. I'm currently undecided whether to do the others or leave them DGCF. Close, but no Snickers bar.

How does the bolt on sound with the BEAD tuning?
I have a potential situation that will require a 5 string. I'm down to onkybone bass which is a 5 but would need a backup and have been craving a T-Bird. I love the VP/60's tone but will definitely need the extend low range. Money is tight but maybe I can swing the D-Roc Standard 5 I've been lusting after. I should have pulled the trigger on the T-Bird Studio 5 when I had the chance.

No doubt. Personally I think the MIC stuff is well made, the MIC Jack Casady is great. I was told point of manufacture wasn't going to change, so Gibson wasn't particularly forthcoming with me. Also I have to sell this stuff, I can't tell you how often customers walk away from Made in China.
I have both a MIK and MIC Casady. IMO, they are equal in quality, but there are differences.
The bodies are slightly different shapes/dimensions and the MIC has a mahogany (or similar wood) neck while the MIK has a maple neck.
This leads me to think Gibson/Epiphone doesn't actually use the same files/patterns when they shift production to a different factory.
Comparing the new MIC silver Epi 60's Tbird pics in the reverb ad, I noticed the middle screw on the flat edge of the pickguard is in a different location relative to the neck PU. They also painted the whole headstock with the body colour.
