Hey Scott @godofthunder59, do you know what the other available finishes are going to be? Thanks.

My daughter brought home a different kind of bass instrument today. An English Euphonium:

To the rest of the world.... you are most welcome!
This is funny and interesting to watch while playing your vintage or non-vintage Thunderbird.
For the record, there isn't much sausage in the gravy in the actual video, and sweet tea doesn't have to be like syrup. Most know how to balance it well.

And I'd like to get my hands on the gig bag, I hate this will it or won't it fit a VP bit. I don't need a nuclear proof bag, just a get from home to the gig bag in the safety of our SUV, especially for a bass I paid $400 for.
Ran across an old list of songs we were doing years ago. Interesting to think back about enjoying playing those songs. Looks like we were beginning to add original material to the lineup at that point. Really a snapshot of what was going on early 80s.

Gig bag = equals broken headstock. I predict a epidemic of busted headstocks in shipping and new bird owners thinking that the gig bag is suitable for thier new(probably first) Thunderbird. Sigh nothing like experience to teach you I suppose. The bass is up on ebay, looks like $849 MAP with View attachment 5358318 View attachment 5358319 View attachment 5358320 View attachment 5358321 gig bag. I'm curious to get my hands on one.
Visit this way and you can have a place to stay and some B&G in the morning. Won't be served in bed, however. You'll have to get your jammies on and get to the table.I love B&G - have only had it once since moving to CA at a joint up north off the hw driving back from Portland a couple years ago. Wasn't as good as B&G from the mid-west/south.

A green, Inverness I think and ember red.Hey Scott @godofthunder59, do you know what the other available finishes are going to be? Thanks.
We obviously didn't play all of them at gigs, and it was nice to change things up a little. I'm guessing that list was compiled when first started getting gigs so we knew what to draw from. I wish I had a later list or even some set lists.I'll have to combine TSC & BG lists to see how many songs we're currently playing. My friend Cork who played in bands in the '60s in SF said they knew over 100 songs! I asked him when they rehearsed and he said "rehearsed?" - they would get to the gig early and learn a couple new songs before starting. It was a different scene back then - he played every day of the week and twice on the weekends.
I see Sam Ash (Never bought there) has advertised a Silver Mist that looks green for same price?A green, Inverness I think and ember red.
Looks like they got the colors mixed up.I see Sam Ash (Never bought there) has advertised a Silver Mist that looks green for same price?

If it says "Made in China" on it, then chances are it's not counterfeit. If it's counterfeit, then it will say it was made somewhere else like those AliExpress instruments that they never show a picture of the headstock in the ad.I avoid if at all possible and not so much to do with quality. They dump so many counterfeit items you wonder when you buy a name brand if it's even the real name brand or not.
If you don't destroy them, they are nearly impossible to destroy.I’ve personally never had a single rust issue in all the years I’ve been using them.
Except once, and was not a result of the strings, but when my alien sweat was in full bloom, that was many moons ago.
Yes, definitely. There are a number of sites that offer things at a really low price. If you get the item, it will be a knockoff of the name brand you though you were getting. Sometimes you will know quickly and other times not, unless you have something to compare it with. Faking things has become an art form in predominately one country, but not exclusively, and at times they are great at it. At times it's just the packaging that is a little off and the product is often impossible to visually tell the difference. If it says "Made in China" on it, then chances are it's not counterfeit. If it's counterfeit, then it will say it was made somewhere else like those AliExpress instruments that they never show a picture of the headstock in the ad.
That's sure not black, white, or burst. I'll be looking to see if they offer any other colors.
Color shouldn't matter since you are going to take steel wool to it anyway. That's sure not black, white, or burst. I'll be looking to see if they offer any other colors.
[edit] Scott already mentioned the other colors. I'm slow this morning.
To be clear, I'm talking about the rounds. If you don't destroy them, they are nearly impossible to destroy.
[edit] I have never had a problem with them rusting.
