Thunderbird Club

I’ve got some of these super long 65” straps I’m looking to sell:

Notice the solid brass hardware and strong leather-like ends?!

I don't do super long straps, I wear my instruminks up high like the Ruttles, but I do like that style...

What's the damage on each? what colours are available?

This thing!
It's insanity!

The two knobs at the right are the channel volumes - they're barely at 2
It's not quite as bassy as a some bass amps, maybe a bit more lo- mid, but with the band it's riding in mix very nicely.

Just goes to show in rock music (at least), the mids are more important than the bass. What does jumpering the channels do?

My wife calls that band the Tragically Hipless :D
Sounds like my wife when I attempt to imitate someone dancing. I get things like, "How can a bass player have no rhythm?" But I admit I can't dance. I could do that hold on to someone and wobble back and forth thing, but that's my limit. During my single days I was at a large party and was asked to dance by a girl I had some casual interactions with from England. I tried to get out of it and told her I couldn’t dance, but she insisted. So I gave in and we went out to the floor. She started dancing and I started doing whatever I was doing, trying really hard. After a while she walked off. I wanted to yell over the music, "I told you I couldn’t dance." I don't recall what I was doing. Heck, maybe something like Gene The Dancing Machine, I don't know.

a good drummer always inspires me to play better

I'll go so far to say a good drummer just makes me play better without even thinking about it. Everything feels natural and easy with a steady relaxed grooving drummer.

Per equipboard, he played quite a variety of basses - but no Gibsons.

I know I saw a picture with him playing a Ripper or Grabber. Probably the day I decided I hated the look of those Gibsons….

Did you relocate the bridge south to conform to a 30" neck scale?

These are custom P and J bass “mini” bodies, perfectly proportioned to the 30” scale necks. Specifically ordered with no neck pocket cut since the ‘70’s Mustang and Musicmaster necks are narrower at the heel compared to a newer Mustang bass neck.

I have three purple and one grey in this style, and if I do an accounting, probably a couple extra in black and red of a different texture.

PM me and I’ll get back to you tonight when I’m done doin’ time (working).

Yes, yes, yes!

I don't know, Scott was doing it - I'm just following on like a Donkey. :woot:
it uses both sides of the preamp giving more signal strength and tonal variability since there are more controls (both channels) in the signal path....old guitarist trick and common with Marshalls....you can't do it on some Fenders....

Thank you :)

Glad somebody knows what I'm doing, I sure as HE double hockeysticks don't. :woot:

That was one thing I liked about my old Peavey head. I almost always had both channels blended (one being parametric). Why did I get rid of that heavy...good sounding sucker.....?

I've seen guitarists do it. Always wondered if it provided any real benefit.

I've been lucky to play with really good drummers over the years and they have helped me to become a better bass-player. All were spot-on rhythmically and a couple I’ve jammed with were musical players. The best are listeners.

Now that you mention it...... We may have fewer earthquakes. But are waiting for the big one from the fault near where Ky, Tn and Mo all meet. Supposed to be a whopper when it happens.

I've heard about that since I lived in Cincinnati in the late '80s.
