It wasn’t too long ago that these could be had in my area for around $500 max. They sure have gone up. I guess I’ll need a Grabber and a Ripper someday.

The first series (of 50) had a very thick body which was veneered on both sides. I'm sure what the reason was, but I think they had mis-drilled the potentiometer holes and covered up that mistake with the veneer. Thesey were all done in white and just one pickup.@Basvarken ?
anyway you could tell what this series this is?The first series (of 50) had a very thick body which was veneered on both sides. I'm sure what the reason was, but I think they had mis-drilled the potentiometer holes and covered up that mistake with the veneer. Thesey were all done in white and just one pickup.
The second series (of 30) had a much thinner body. Not veneered and they were finished in white, black or baby blue. All of them just one pickup.
The thin body and belly cut on a baby blue BaCH bird would certainly indicate series two. If and when the bass arrives at my house I’ll be able to confirm if the bridge pickup was added after the fact or not. If it looks original (which it does in the pics) then you’re absolutely correct that at least some IVs were made in the series II run.I'll add, it would seem there were some IVs made in batch Series II, exemplified a few (a bunch?) of pages back on that eBay listing for the baby blue IV with a stomach cut.
Maybe it'd be better to note series I and II as 1 and 1.5? Since they seem the same, but with different body construction? Hard to pin all the information down well
So you won't notice if any are missing?
Like any technical discussion from leading industry experts, there’s always a differing opinion by equally qualified experts. You’ll have to pick a camp and stay on that side of the fence. So it all comes down to the screws affecting negatively/positively the correct sympathetic vibration transfer for proper tone. And this suggests the color of the screw inconsequential? I don't buy it one bit.
Nice, where can u see the spectrum analysis?
The Flamingo visited Casa Veronica not too long ago. It was strung with EBCFs. Snuck one past our Queen. Don't tell her. I fear the wrath.Don't worry - we'll solve that problem!
HERETIC!ONLY. ONE.
ALL. I. NEED.

Well not this year. Between working and seeing after my mother who lives with us even that won't help.

When I followed football, the Chargers were my team. I would call that Chargers Powder Blue that they used for the original uniforms in the sixties. The thin body and belly cut on a baby blue BaCH bird would certainly indicate series two. BTW - is that color officially called baby blue, or is it a Daphne blue?
