Thunderbird Club

Someone looking for a Ripper?

I just think there’s a lot of uber smart people in this group….kinda like a kindred spirit club…..we should have a Pimm’s evening at the GTG…

I will make it a point to have some on hand, I more than owe you my friend! Do you mix it with anything or straight up?

Quick question for the string gurus out there - sound wise, what bass string would be the polar opposite to an Ernie Ball Cobalt Flat?

The reason I’m asking is because I’m running a bit of a test here to see just how much different I can make two roughly identical basses sound with just a string change, and conversely, can I EQ the two different string basses to sound roughly the same with just the onboard passive controls or playing technique. In this case, I have two Goth basses I’ll use for the test.

You know me, always experimenting, should be fun. Will try to post the sound results.

RS-66s, maybe? Less bass, zing for days. A rabidly angry piano.

Did you run both tubes with the same settings? In that, I agree you can hear the difference, but the lower grain tube will sound the same as the higher grain tube if you just push it a little harder, or push the other a little less.

Nope. Not even close in any amp I've worked on.

To be further humiliated by the Cool Dude and Mile's the chick magnate? Not to mention all the people who can actually play bass. No...thank...you. I have enough issues already. :smug:

It would be great, and I hope to make one at some point. I would love to meet some of my favorite people.

I think you'd enjoy it, for many reasons. :)

The people are super cool. The only problem is the flock of Thunderbirds that keeps chasing us around.
