Thunderbird Club

Yah - that's the ticket! I always thought a natural bird was the iconic Bi-Centennial. A finish the Gen1 never had.

That sucks - didn't know you had one and it was stollen. What's the back story?

:wideyed:

That hurts. There's nothing to like about any of that.

was playing in southern Spain (Marbella) and was moving from a house into an apartment with my ex wife and got careless while loading onto a van (lots of stuff) and forgot what thief bait these things can be….the 7ender case had the metal 7ender logo as did the Bird with the Gibson one….unfortunately I (my wife) noticed the next day when they were well gone….no point in talking to the Spanish police…….:rollno:
mentioned it here a few times….would rather forget as the J was my main player and the Bird was a HS graduation present to myself….careful with your basses guys, when you least expect it…

Damn! That sux!
I always take the bass into the gig first trip and outta the gig last trip. So far, no problem-except when one of the other guys tries to be "helpful" and brings it out too soon.:banghead: There's a method to my load in/out madness.

It’s a 2015/2016 MIM PJ (now called the Player). It was their first of several new Mustang models as they were restarting the line with shorties becoming so popular. It’s my travel bass. Perfect for playing through my little Rumble when I have to stay in hotels. I had to replace the awful tuners with Hipshots. It’s a nice playing bass, but not worth much or very interesting. I will say that the J pickup in it is better sounding than the noiseless J pickup in my 7ender Deulxe PJ with the J neck.

Now if I could just set the Wayback Machine to ‘83 and get back my ‘68 that I sold….
That looks cool. What color is it?

Just scored tix for PJ Harvey coming to the SF Masonic in October. While her current and previous records are not necessarily the stuff she does that I like, it is on a Friday night and I can always hope she’ll bring out some really early stuff as well as stuff from “Stories from the City,…” , “Let England Shake” and “White Chalk”

…marketed as “An evening with…” makes me hope for a long or split set with no opener. Maybe that make for time for a lot of older material.
So cool! She is wonderful.

Yep, I know how it feels ~

I'm hoping a bit of your talent will rub off onto it, I need the help!

Chuck gave it a mojo set up.
You should be fine.

What were they thinking? Jacked around is an understatement. At least the headstock hasn’t been broken.

I’m seeing some strange things lately as used Thunderbird prices have risen. It’s like sellers know that what they
have isn’t all that desirable and figure they can off it for more coin than it’s worth to the unsuspecting.
I know, and think you are right.

I think the totality of explanatory power here, both with the mod and later the price, resides in one word: Crack. I'm sticking with that one until someone suggests something more reasonable and likely.
