Thunderbird Club

was playing in southern Spain (Marbella) and was moving from a house into an apartment with my ex wife and got careless while loading onto a van (lots of stuff) and forgot what thief bait these things can be….the 7ender case had the metal 7ender logo as did the Bird with the Gibson one….unfortunately I (my wife) noticed the next day when they were well gone….no point in talking to the Spanish police…….:rollno:
mentioned it here a few times….would rather forget as the J was my main player and the Bird was a HS graduation present to myself….careful with your basses guys, when you least expect it…
That sucks. I was fortunate and only had one ripped off. That was why I hardly used the '64 and '55 Pbass at gigs way back. You can't always keep you eye on things and can't always go lock them in the trunk. I even worry about the '64 being used at church.

Me too. And I'm generally not fond of natural finishes.
Me neither, but I really like this one.

I don’t know how you do it. We’re the same age. I stand for more than an hour and my back and neck start killing me. I am bound and determined to get back in the pool as soon as the water gets warm enough.

Im putting together a set to practice for my imaginary band. Baby steps. First song is Telstar. Then Wipe Out. Next up is Charlie Don’t Surf. Then Time Is Tight (Clash version). Next is I Fought the Law (Clash version). Followed by I’m So Bored With the USA, Born in the USA, and Anarchy in the UK. Thinking about what the next ones will be. Gotta have some Bowie and Neil; maybe Hang Onto Yourself. Heroes will be last in the set.
Here’s a seldom heard song that is guaranteed to get the ladies on the dance floor…

I would be too…my 72 P got stolen out of a HS band locker!..some definite hanky panky on that one…..at least insurance got that one covered and allowed for my first Ricky…

My internet friend here in Finland has a five string fretted version (it was the first Ruokangas made with that system) and he says it works beatifully.

Beautiful Bass and no doubt it sounds good too at that price point. I was only pointing out that a starved voltage tube pre-amp is not a "traditional" pre-amp tube design. That doesn't make it bad but to me it's just a little marketing spin....and Marketing has a long tradition for selling products. I would prefer a traditional outboard HV tube preamp over an onboard LV preamp. Like the marketing people say...But wait, there's more!
I would definitely rock that bass if I had one!

have to often remind my colleagues we are not writing dissertations but there to sell wafers….

I saw that one. Congratulations! It’s a shame it doesn’t have the stock pickup. Hopefully you’ll find the right pickup to do it justice.

There has been a Greco on my local CL for months now. He doesn’t understand why no one wants it since the original pickup was replaced with a Chinabucker. And he wants $1500 for it. “Sorry dude, not interested.”

"The Chinabucker upgrade. Easily doubles the value, so this is a steal!"
