Maybe you can fill this out a little or refresh my memory. Medlock once said he played drums with them and said he quit because they needed a better drummer, but Bob was there about as early as it gets. Rick's in the pic, but so is Bob Burns.

I saw an older Stevie Winwood concert on TV a while ago. Stevie was playing a Hammond organ while singing, being the multi-talented instrumentalist that he is. The Bass also sounded great. At first I thought it was a typical recorded concert where they never show the Bass player then I noticed he was simultaneously singing, playing the organ and doing a fantastic job on the organ Bass pedals. The bass runs were so smooth it sounded like it was a real Bass player! It was a 3 piece band...Organ, Guitar and drummer. I wish I could find that concert because he was fantastic as usual.

Burns & Junstrom left (voluntarily? I don’t recall) in 71 when the band first started recording. Rickey Medlocke came in on drums and ??? Walker took over bass. Within a year Burns returned so Medlocke moved to third guitar and they finally got Wilkeson on bass for the first time. Ricky left for Blackfoot within a year.

I’ll throw in this cover from 1970, I love it so different to the original.

Eleanor Rigby by The Zoot. This is kinda their reaction to the previous incarnation being a pretty saccharine “bubble gum” “teenyboppers” band. This is more where their tastes lay.
Darryl Cotton on vocals, he later spent 5 or so years in the US and joined a band called Friends. Did some songwriting, hung around with Aussie friends like Olivia N-J.
Rick Springfield on guitar. Moved to the US, General Hospital, “Jessie’s Girl” etc
Beeb Birtles on bass. Later was a founding guitarist in Little River Band and high harmony voice.
Rick Brewer on drums. No idea, sorry Rick.

Thanks. Greg and Rickey (backing vocals One More Time), were also on a tract maybe two on Street Survivors. Not sure I even heard why Walker played bass. He was/is a fantastic bass player.

I never heard why Larry left (why he ended up in .38 Special clear for several reasons--another solid player). Burns left the last time due to some mental health issues, not sure about early on.
