Thunderbird Club

I’ll throw in this cover from 1970, I love it so different to the original.

Eleanor Rigby by The Zoot. This is kinda their reaction to the previous incarnation being a pretty saccharine “bubble gum” “teenyboppers” band. This is more where their tastes lay.
Darryl Cotton on vocals, he later spent 5 or so years in the US and joined a band called Friends. Did some songwriting, hung around with Aussie friends like Olivia N-J.
Rick Springfield on guitar. Moved to the US, General Hospital, “Jessie’s Girl” etc
Beeb Birtles on bass. Later was a founding guitarist in Little River Band and high harmony voice.
Rick Brewer on drums. No idea, sorry Rick.

Edit: yes I’m sure I have posted this clip before

I must have missed it before. It's a cool musical reinterpretation.
They screwed up and sometimes showed the bass player!
What are those amps? Not that they're using them...

NP: Zoot, "The Freak"
I like these cats!

You might've heard this one by CCR! His version was 1956...not sure when this live version was released.

This live version makes Alice Cooper look tame. Ha!

Here's the 1956 recorded version.

I'd actually heard the Screamin's version before CCR's came out. Augusta radio was sometimes pretty dang cool.

No idea.
But as you suggest, a 1970 TV slot is 99.9% miming to the recording. Sometimes, like on Countdown which came on around 1975, would allow live vocals plus mimed playing. not sure if the vocals were live on this one. Probably not at a guess.

Screamin' Jay was unique - a very creative performer. We (TSC) play "Frenzy" with audience participation. (...at "you can really knock me out - YAH!)

Only the lead singer had a mic, but the harmonies were crystal clear.

Uh, Will made it.

Father of Trolls?
(Who's Your) Troll Daddy?
Papa the Trolling Stone?
Trollmonger?
I'm in Love with my Troll?
Daddy Rock-a-Troller?

Feel free to vote for one or suggest another.

Five points to the house of whoever guesses/knows the cultural reference for each of those.
