That is nice in all Black!
Thank you. I had a white pearloid pickguard for a good while. That yellowed a bit and really wasn't a thing (for me), so I put the original back on. It's a great playing bass. That time frame where Fender's were often passed over until '08 when they began using the better bridge, and has the S-1 switch no one liked which added to the dislike for that era. It plays great and sounds great, and looks nice. What more could you ask for?

As mentioned 456 pages ago, I had my main player Pbass stolen from a church years ago. After getting back to playing some (and a G&L as an insurance replacement), my wife said one Saturday out of the blue, "You miss your Precision, don't you?" She knew the black one was at a store we had begun to visit and suggested we go look at it. (She also knew there were several 3 tone sunbursts...but they were never an option at our house.) We drove over and I played it a while. It did play very nice and was offered a fair deal at the time, so we went home with it. (I might have gotten it instead of the G&L, but that gave me a great deal on the last one they had.) For that reason I likely will never sell it. It would have to be a needed trade/cash for something pretty special.

Heep!

Lotsa love for the late Mr. Gary Thain!
Dig the two ACC rigs behind him.

Bands today generally have little clothing style like back then.
"What color black are you wearing tonight?"
"I think I'm going with black pants and my other black shirt that way we don't match."
"I'll wear longer chains to stand out and not look like your chains."

Real Rock Stars vs Posers, UH was the real deal!

A few years ago I sold my only fretless bass (Pedulla Pentabuzz). Great bass but five strings made it less comfortable. So now I have this thing and it plays wonderfully and looks pretty cool too (at least to me). I am considering dropping a Tbird pup in place of the stock pup someday, but for now I’m really enjoying it.

I think the TI flats and the labella flats are the only strings I didn't like, and I'm not super picky.

Pyramid Golds, are my runaway favorite for flats, the Ernie Ball cobalt flats are a distant second, and much cheaper, but excellent. Optima RB are good too but expensive. I have my first set of SIT flatwounds on the way for my 5 string ric (i haven't heard if Pyramid can add a .125-132 to make a regular set a 5er....

I love the feel of Pyramid Golds but EBCFs just sound better to me.

Apparently not. Must take after her Dad who can work on about anything. I got ripped off in the talent department.

I'm just going to get a couple spoons and show y'all what I can do.....

In reality this looks a bit too complicated. Should just stick to being poor at bass since I've got tons of experience at it. I really have it down well, if I don't say so myself.
I need one of those!

Well the washboard anyway.
For when I’m folking around.

Such a cool bass! Congratulations George!

I like it! Very nice looking.
Seems like it spent some time at Willy's at some point.

I go by unplugged feel first, I can always twist a knob on an amp later.

-BUT-

I didn't mind the feel of flats on fretless, but no knob twisting could fix the sound.... AND I prefer dead as shag rounds.....

I kinda thought to put tapes on one of my Rics, but the thought of trying something new exhausts me.....

Ampeg? Or the Eastwood version?

Sounds like a great wife and a great ending to a stolen Bass!
