I need one of those!

Well the washboard anyway.
For when I’m folking around.
Still struggling to get the ad through the charity decision and funding process…. Which budget? Not my budget! stuff.

Anyway rather than list the instruments we want in, I decided to leave that and just describe what we are. That was a head scratcher!

In the end I went with…
Folk Pop Oldies group.

Let’s see if I get anything back once I can get them to put the ad together and out.

Apparently not. Must take after her Dad who can work on about anything. I got ripped off in the talent department.

I'm just going to get a couple spoons and show y'all what I can do.....

In reality this looks a bit too complicated. Should just stick to being poor at bass since I've got tons of experience at it. I really have it down well, if I don't say so myself.
I gave the daughter-in-law a washboard and thimbles for Christmas or her birthday one year. She's a starchy classical oboe player, and I figured she just needed to let her inner hillbilly out to loosen up a bit. She got into it a lot and gave me a washtub, broomstick, and ball of twine the next year. I figure the boy can play a jug and we are all set.

Sounds like a great wife and a great ending to a stolen Bass!

Twice when I've waffled on a purchase (an early 70s Strat ~15 years ago at a stupidly low price and more recently a white VP) and missed out, my wife has said, "You should have just bought it". When I mentioned @dukeorock 's Greco, she didn't bat an eye. "Did you buy it yet? Why not?" So when @WillyW 's redbird came back up, I just bought it. Her response was "Cool!" She's been really supportive. Roles are reversed on gardening, but I think she's finally getting comfortable with Just Buying What She Wants.

New bass day…

A few years ago I sold my only fretless bass (Pedulla Pentabuzz). Great bass but five strings made it less comfortable. So now I have this thing and it plays wonderfully and looks pretty cool too (at least to me). I am considering dropping a Tbird pup in place of the stock pup someday, but for now I’m really enjoying it.
Eastwood? I came very close to buying one of those something like 15 years ago. It sounded a lot like my EB-2, which means it sounded great. I didn't think about anything fretless at the time, so I didn't buy it. That was probably a mistake, but so it goes.

Question for the Aussie TBites: Have you heard of Bones & Jones ? They're in Austin for SXSW and are playing next week at SXCL (South by Cirrus Logic, where Cirrus (my employer) brings in a band each day at lunch during the festival. Cool stuff despite having no birds - not even flightless waterfowl.
What's the Australian equivalent of Americana?
Sounds like possible Dylan influence as well.

That is way too cool. My Lovely wife has put up with my "gotta have this" moments for 45 years! She has her hobbies and collections too so we're both guilty but that's what makes life fun.

I didn't know you worked for Cirrus Logic. I talked to many of their FAE's and sales Reps several years ago.
My band from way back was called Cirrus as you see in my avatar!
