No opti-grab?
Dang you “Vette” guys! How's that Vette treating you?
Nothing significant in my experience. I did that to my 2013 NR when it was converted to left-handed.[Question] if I move from VVT to be VT, both pickups connecting to one volume pot (with a treble bleed), will this give a different tone compared to the standard VVT?
Finally fired up the 1540he bi-amped. It really needs a top notch EQ. It is very easy to have the 10s overpower the single 15. When that happens, you hear all my pathetic left hand string noises. When you get it right, it can give you whatever you want. Only had the amp between 2 and 3.
I was just thinking it would be good to have a way to compare magnets in pickups. And it makes trippy patterns!Spot on.
LOL - on the destructive testing approach. There’s always magnetic viewing film that would reveal pole or blade layout under the cover. I’ve been meaning to get some for my 2015 DeCola pup bird to help visualize the massiveness of the magnetic field these pickups have.

Really, my point is, why hang out by the drummer? At least stand ahead of them if you can.
Plexiglass shields/baffles FTWBoth bands I’m in have a lead singer that is the drummer. Mix in small stages and needing to keep the space in the middle open so the guitarist(s) and bassist(me) don’t block the lead singer and I find myself pretty close to the drummer and his cymbals.
It does make me wonder how an Epi guitar probucker in a Tbird cover would sound. My thoughts exactly. What type of magnets are really in the can? The other Epi bass pickups of the same general type have exposed pole pieces front and back, same as the LP guitar pickups, save for the number of pole pieces. Maybe Marshall wants to let you desolder the back of his to see what's inside.![]()
Same price I paid for the cab![]()
I’m putting together a little synopsis of a movie my son’s band See Creatures landed a song for an Apple TV horror movie. I have to admit the trailer scared me enough I probably won’t watch the movie but I’ll attach the song and movie trailer for those that like that genre. They’re a 2 piece band and perform live music with a great drummer and my son on a guitar looper, along with him on bass, keyboards and he does most of the live vocals too. They sound like a full live band.
He also has a music degree from SCAD and has his ProTools certification but he chooses to record with multitrack tape with no auto tune. He loves the skill of recording direct to multitrack tape. The Movie producer heard their song on Apple Music and approached them to license their song for his movie. I’ll try to post their movie sound track song and a little of the Movie backstory over the weekend. Stay tuned!
That always feels weird to me.Plexiglass shields/baffles FTW
Don't see many of those on the road anymore!Dang you “Vette” guys!
You made me dig into the picture books.
Here’s my Vette. It burned rubber..If you slammed on the brakes hard enough at 40 mph.
Cheers!

But I am cheap, but you already knew thatWell, you want good eq…….?
Not everything is on the cheap.
Indeed.Earlier I talked about how people that found out I had an Electronics degree wanted all of their stuff fixed but if they found out you were a Carpenter OMG! I got to the point I wouldn’t say what I did!
The biggest change you’ll probably see would be the difference in tone you get from a two volume layout when both volumes are maxed, that setting frequently alters the tone of the bass by slightly scooping the sound. If one of the two volume pots is set slightly less than the other you don’t get that scoop.[Question] if I move from VVT to be VT, both pickups connecting to one volume pot (with a treble bleed), will this give a different tone compared to the standard VVT?
