Weird coincidence.

So last Monday the Kia blows up. Contacted a guy and he is going to meet me the next day to pick it up.

That evening I’m looking for cars and the rambler wagon catches my eye. I go to punch in the number to text about it and it’s the same number…

when he comes to pick up the Kia we start talking about the VW 181 I have and the Rambler I want. Tuesday I check out the Rambler
He comes by Thursday to check out the 181, and Saturday we make the exchange….

The seats have been reupholstered, and the factory carpet and interior is serviceable.

need new rubber all around and a windshield and paint.

I wa going to take it around and get paint job estimates but the accelerator rod has come off the gas pedal. The brother need to be cleaned and new o-rings on the filler tube. I’ll try and do that today. I already secured a source for the windshield rubber and windshield. Ohh and side mirrors. Maybe just a driver side.

what happened to the linkage? have had to have the clutch linkage welded in the past….no fun when that one goes..

the accelerator rod came off the back of the gas pedal. I didn’t get into the engine bay to see what’s going on there.

there is a ball end on the rod and I don’t think it’s retained on the back of the pedal it just sits there and looks pretty.

I put the 110 set on a SS (30”) I have tuned to D standard and it sounds awesome. The tension at that tuning is a little light, but still doable. I think the 105 set will be perfect for E standard and even Eb tuning.

I see a few NR basses with only the Neck Pup. Are there any with just the Bridge Pup only?????

I don't use the neck Pup at all on my bass and i just wondered if there was any out there in the wild..

Pretty sure if there are, they’re custom built.

Not TBirds, but some other basses use just a bridge-or close to it-pup. I never use the bridge/superfluous pup on my 67NR.

Purely interested in a NR TBird variant with just bridge Pup.

Interesting. Not as a production model that I’m aware of. I have been experimenting some using more bridge pickup and playing over it instead of where I usually play which is over the neck pickup. Thunderbirds are so versatile in their ability to have a wide variety of tones. But let’s keep that amongst ourselves, shall we?
