Thunderbird Club

I was looking at the stock saddle spacing and it was 2 1/16". Visually, the E and G look mighty close to the edge of the board. He says no issue with roll off. His neck is 2" at the heel just like mine. It is certainly worth a try since it doesn't require any real surgery. The bottom plate uses metric threads so the Hipshot bolts work.
Looking at that picture, I know I'd be rolling strings off the fingerboard.
I don't see what the plate is doing unless you need to raise the bridge.

I wasn’t allowed to check a bass as a carry on, on a recent United flight to Germany.
This is what they told me because I wanted to bring one over to leave there.
I found this out before my travels.
There’s a US federal law requiring airlines to allow you to take an instrument as s carry on. There are limits around that, but it’s there. Different airlines handle it differently. I’m still learning about it…

This is a Pelican V800 double rifle case. Interior dims are 53" x 16" x 6". I knew that Bruce Johnson offers these as a case option with his scroll basses. I just had to dig a little to find the pics. The SKB cases I posted earlier are virtually the same thing. One's slightly shorter. One's slightly longer. The Pelican is actually a good deal cheaper though at $230.

I think that’s the one I was looking at, but I don’t see anything about TSA lock approval.

Do any of y'all know anything about this guy? Looks like a Bach, and those seem to get pretty solid reviews around here. Anybody ever tried those Montreux pickups? I'm ready to swap my Ultra Precision for it... And that's a fantastic bass on it's own. Just wondering if anybody has some knowledge to convince me either way.

Upon further discussion with the esteemed @Basvarken I'm probably gonna pass after all. Sounds like some sort of parts bass. I dig it, but I'm not taking that leap of faith

Pretty bad isn’t it. I flew them a lot when I had to go back and forth to Sacramento. It has been awhile. Only once since the Pandemic. And that was pretty awful.
Serious question: What are good airlines to fly?

I want the ones where men dress in suits and ladies in dresses and people act like adults not overage spring breakers. SW is big here and seems to have a lot of options. From what I can tell we have a lot of budget flights. I think I'd rather get in a box and let UPS fly me someplace.

One must go back in time to the 60’s for that.
