Thunderbird Club

FWIW, my daughter and her Jet Blue roommate and coworkers are not old. They’re very pleasant young women and men. Unless you’re on the Florida/Boston flights. They get really grumpy with the clientele on those runs. And deservedly so. They have horrible stories about the Karens and (sorry Ken) Kens they have to babysit.
I thought it was "Kevins".

It's funny how names get chosen to designate problem people. When I first started getting involved with racing bicycles in the '80s, a guy on a bike to avoid was a "Fred", usually someone who wasn't a good cyclist and could cause a crash riding in a group training or racing. Why Fred? Who knows?

I think George asked about documenting the VP to 64 changes.

Step 1 was routing the bridge pickup cavity 3/8” closer to be the neck pickup.

Step 2 will be begging Irv to make a spacer that is 1/2” wider top and 1/2” wider at the bottom.

Step 3 will be cutting a block to fill the extra 3/8” space at the lower end of the bridge pickup cavity. I just need to work around the wiring hole that’s at the bottom corner.

sorry if I missed something but what’s the purpose of the mod?

I'd like to speak to the manager.

When I starting at this place of employment back last century, we had a troublesome Honeywell (no Bull) mini computer which we named Fred.
F’n Ridiculous Electronic Device.

Orbisonia
:) Ah. That Roy:facepalm:. No connection AFAIK. Very old-for the US-town. I should prolly look it up. Someday.
Maybe...
FYI, it's across Aughwick creek from Robertsdale, PA. Which is the home of the "Railways to Yesteryear" trolley museum. Streetcars and such.

They hang a computer operated sensor/flashing red light on the last car of US freight trains. It's officially called a Flashing Rear End Device, or FRED. Crewmen that were put out of work by it have a different word for the "F".

Well, I'm getting (A), sleepy and, (2), somewhat snockered and it's almost Thursday(here), so:

Damn, I love this ol' thing.

Home of the East Broad Top Railroad(narrow gauge[3'], steam engines). I was there in 86 and 87.

Oh wow. My son loved trains around 6 years old and we were on a 30’s original, old steam engine train, full size, with 6’ wheels and it used to take people through Cuyahoga Valley, Ohio for many years. Old 765.

Anyway we were inside the cabin, firebox red hot, smelly oil, brass gauges all reading insane pressures and steam everywhere. I was a little nervous wondering if it was safe! The Train Engineer was all sooty asked my son if he wanted to blow the steam whistle. He was excited so I lifted him up to pull the whistle and he grabbed it and pulled and it was deafening loud. We were all yelling let go…let go…let go! He couldn’t hear us but he was screaming and pulling as hard as he could because he didn’t realize he was blowing the whistle. I finally pried his hand off the rope handle and the crazy noise stopped and My son was still screaming…the Engineers were all laughing so hard…”All kids do that”!

If the center piece is an actual neck-thru - the best way to seamlessly address changes there is to rout the raised section top-to-bottom to the same level as the wings, glue down a piece of mahogany of the same dimensions to replace it, and do pu rout's to Gen 1 specs. Same with the two piece bridge/tail-piece/string-stop. As you say, a filled/patched rout no matter how good a job will eventually ghost through.

With a bolt-on Epi - the raised section is added from the factory, and could be lifted off using heat (cloths iron to soften the glue) and a thin spackling knife.

Yep on the ghost though, mu Orville shows where the 3 point was plugged, and my '89 easily shows the walnut laminated strips up the neck and on the headstock as they have dried at a different rate than the mahogany.

I've had similar ghosting for the same reason. Live & learn.

NKP 765, 2-8-4 Berkshire (name of the wheel arrangement), note the little letters o the boiler dome NYC&StL, New York Chicago and St. Louis.

Floyd….

Floyd? Only contemporary (pro) cyclist Floyd I am aware of is Floyd Landis who was an excellent bike rider/racer but had questionable integrity as a person. Following the whole sordid saga of US Postal/Lance Armstrong etc - at the end of the day Landis didn't strike me as a particularly bright guy.
