Thunderbird Club

So the a/c unit (the outside section) shed all the blades on its fan yesterday. I assume the Aussie sun degraded the plastic over time.
it is old enough that I am concerned that they won’t have the part now. I don’t want to be buying a whole new unit.
It’s only a year or so ago that we replaced the in roof motor. That was exxy enough.
Plastic? There is no way plastic would work where we live. Ours are aluminum.

Heck. I agree that Autozone pretty much has their act together. But I have AAA come to me. Price is close to Costco and the like, and all it takes is a phone call. They arrive in thirty minutes, test and install a new one if needed (they pretty much have one of everything on the truck). I don’t think I’ve messed with doing it myself this century.

And a very happy Easter to you my friend.

Better now than later. Summer heat is the battery killer.
Sony still makes the best. You have to shoot them to kill them. I almost cried when I finally hauled all the old Sony cathodes to the electronics recycling. Time just passed them by.

say what? I didn’t know you could have AAA come out and do that.

Had AAA for years never used them much.

Up and running for the next 5 years.

until the next thing breaks.

TV up and running too. I didn’t want to spend Sony money on a brain melting TV.

the Hisense seems to be fine so far, the Samsung was 7-10 years old. I had a sound bar on it and I didn’t feel like hooking it back up and the new tv sounds fine.

AAA (no affiliation) is great. Cheap membership and great service. The battery service is awesome. They’ll start you, test the alternator, and install a new battery if needed at a competitive price for the battery. We’ve been with them forty years and have definitely come out ahead on the deal.

So, I was downstairs Dremeling to fit the surrounds to my DeColas when the redhead who lives at my house who was upstairs watching a how to kill your husband (Lifetime) show. She came downstairs to check on my progress and I told her I was almost done, telling her I was going to paint them flat or gloss black. She said leave them shiny (chrome). Thoughts?

Chrome covers on the Decolas?

It took longer to clean under and behind the dryer than to replace the switch. Since I had it pulled out, half the laundry room got cleaned. I was thinking how this is still simple enough even I can do it. Now I need to clean under and behind the washer. Maybe in a few weeks. I like to pace myself.
Scope (of work) creep!

Seattle, baby!

What you get with friends working for Cuerpo Nacional de Policia.

And speed bumps are called sleeping policemen.
Here, we used to have little round things at intersections to show turning vehicles where the middle of the road was. So they could turn onto the correct side.

They were known as “silent coppers” same as silent policemen.

Another thing they don’t bother with anymore.

Plastic??? That was an evil design choice. Sorry. But I’d expect there to be an easy to sub part.

Plastic? There is no way plastic would work where we live. Ours are aluminum.

Ok - they don’t look metal but I don’t know they are plastic. 19 years old now.
They are a dull dark grey, I think with a little fleck of something in them.

Kind of both Gk and Latin, but orig from Heb.
Logical, maybe Aramaic in the mix somewhere?
