Put a pickup cover on and nobody will notice theres a cavity there at all, I made my own cover. Why not use some kind of brass grille you can cut to perfect size?
Do a Google search on 'brass grille' and plenty of cool stuff comes up - You could probably even throw in a few LED's and a battery in the cavity as well.![]()
That would be cool when you have a chance.

These ^ were my suggestionsOr if you want a Gibson in that general shape with a long scale neck there were these.
The mid 2000s Money Bass

Or the Les Paul Double Cut Bass from around the same time.

I picked up a Les Paul Double Cut Bass in Black Cherry a while back and it is just excellent. Similar to the red one above but very flamey top and with chrome hardware not gold. Reasonably light, very well balanced, built like a tank and sounds like a TBird. They come with TB +s and mine is now a regular gigging bass.
Here's my one.

Ok, impressive tones, pretty much love all the variations.
(Although I'm a tone dimed out dude, those stood out the most for me).
What's not to like.
Much appreciated.
Now I'm curious as to what the Thunderbuckers sound like in comparison.
But I love the tone of those pick ups.

And we're racing*! They sound very nice.

Yeah there is no fun in that! If Motley can do it, so can we. And we will.A good way to end up in hospital. Spray glitter instead.
HA! Truth be told, I only have ever played in original bands so my knowledge of other people's songs is very limited...as is evidenced by my song choice!![]()
I'm gna get a set, just don't know what I'll put them on yet. Too many decisions!@wolfkeller - my latest set of abalone speedknobs arrived. All forseeable TBird control configurations are now covered.
