Definitely must not be just the bass player, no way. Don't let a singer tell a player unless he's a good musician as well. Still, own your parts always show respect to the music. Too many think a tribute is same as a bar band where you add your thing. Not if you want to be successful
It's always a good way to look at it. Long as singer is delivering the goods then listen to him. He might be a dick about it but he may also be right. Tripping out is Def NOT the way though.
I'll say this, I've had 2 guitar players, 3 drummers and 4 singers and now we're better than ever. Nope, I'd never tolerate that. There is always another guy. A singer asked me why he had to carry a Mike stand? Said I need to hire Roadies. I left him there in Columbus Ohio ( 4 hrs From Detroit) and cby the next sat had a new singer for a gig. No way bro.
One thing I do different, I cannot stand playing open A so I play on the E whereas Sixx preferred open A mostly. Just too weak. I was using ampeg like he always did but went back to GK where I can still get a close tone. I do have dummy svt heads though
Forget it. Pyrotechnics in small/local clubs, where they might/might not be prepared for an accident will likely result in fines, or arrest, or a fire. Last fire in a club we had in RI resulted in a historic event, and a sad one at that.
Ok, saw the outdoors comment. Still. Fire marshalls tend to look dimly upon amateurs with flamethrowers around large groups of people...
