Thunderbird Club

It's a Dimarzio with a S/P switch. Makes Precision like noise with adequate bass output...maybe it's the 1/8" thick brass, including bridge, and almost completely neck through construction that's responsible for that.

Is that glued together as well as the giant neck plate bolted to the back?

I love skydiving, too, but it's been at least 10 years since my last jump. The jumps I made were from a Cessna 185 so you just sorta dropped from the wing strut. It was a rush!

Tried to upload the video but it doesn't accept mp4 files.
Yeah, that was my first AFF jump, from a Cessna 182! It was a really crappy day so the Twin Otter wasn't going up, but one of the jumpmasters talked the Cessna pilot into going up. We circled around, looking for a hole in the clouds to jump through. I was so nauseous after a while that I was thrilled to just get out of the damn plane.

I did my jumps about 35 years ago. Watching the plane land, we were happy to get out at the top. The pilot was not gentle.

In parallel mode does it sound ray-ish? (Ray with preamp eq set flat of course, or passive ray)
Not to me. But most StingRays don't sound like my '76.

Tone depends upon pickup design as well as placement. Ps and original alnico MMs are very different pickups. There's also no 'flat' detent or passive mode on an original 2 band StingRay preamp.

Always dug Paul Weller.

Not liking Weller isn't really an option in this house (excuse the double negative). Mod culture is an interesting gateway to other things. Someone I know went throught the Mod --> Soul progression and ended up into Rap music to the extent he had a specialist record shop, a collection of 35,000 discs and was doing support slots for Public Enemy etc.

Fun Fact: in the film 808 (about the drum machine) Ad-Rock says he was on his way to buy a Rickenbacker guitar cos he liked Paul Weller, but ended up leaving with a drum machine instead. The rest is history.

Well, also, The Jam was awesome. There's no denying that. :)
