Why not use some kind of brass grille you can cut to perfect size?
Do a Google search on 'brass grille' and plenty of cool stuff comes up - You could probably even throw in a few LED's and a battery in the cavity as well.![]()
Personally I'd look for an older badge, one with a raised border, and get a bead roller, or have someone that has a one to bead roll the pickguard in a similar fashion.I like a certain calculated randomness, which is why I'm considering the badge. But, it's not so perfect- I do like the old layout of typeface though, and it's from the day when brass was a popular utility component for machines we depended on and maintained.
Also it sort of upstaged the brass pickguard, so I'm looking for something more seamless. So your suggestion is interesting.
Brass colored leds... ha.
One step further and install a small propane tank and an ignition module.Go all Ace Frehley on it and have smoke come out of the cavity.

I know the shape, closest I think you can get is a Hamer short-scale...Since we are wildly off topic, a question for the group: Is anyone aware of a Gibson bass offering in the shape of the original EB-O ( the non SG body shape) aside from the original? I vaguely remember one being offered....
I ask because I snagged another set of Lollar T-Bird pickups and the wheels have started turning......

I was eyeing those pick ups, (assuming they are the ones that were here in the classifieds),but since i have no idea as to what Bird i will end up with, i held off.
Lollar makes some great stuff, would love to hear those once in the bass of your choice.
I have a set of Lollar's in my 2014 Heritage Cherry T-Bird and they are pretty awesome. I can try and record something and out it up here....
