Even single-coil basses I own/play with the occasional hum - it's just a matter of facing another direction to get rid of it. As in - no biggy.
There's a guy in Tahoe who makes electric mats. He's selling a lot of them to people in our town. They're back ordered. I haven't decided what Precautions I'm going to do. We have a fancy door with glass which supposedly attracts them. We were advised to do this for the time being.

A number of days in bright sunlight (UV rays) spraying with Lysol gets rid of it. I've had to do this a couple of times.
I like single coil hum, it doesn't tell me to burn things like the leprechaun does.

Whatever blows your skirt up... guitarist's like single-coils (regardless of hum) because they play so f-ing loud. As a bass player, I do my best to avoid encouraging it in any single-coil bass I play.
That's what I did with the case my Studio came in. Lysol and a couple of 105 days cured it.

I regularly deal with 50+ yr old basses and some come in OHSC's. My '64 T-bird II OHSC was one example, and my '68 Coral Deluxe Bass OHSC was another - "closet queen" musty. It's not a deal-breaker dealt with correctly, as long as here is no actual mold. I once bought a vintage leather strap that reeked of tobacco/nicotine but it finally was ok after many hrs under UV light/air w/Lysol.

I get that with my Regenerate. Oddly enough the '06 Thunderbird will if just the neck pickup. It's been a while, but I think that's right. Figured the tapes on it might have something to do with it.

Put something from Buca di Beppo in front of the door. That will keep them away.
(*I love good Italian, but that place is overpriced-nasty in my repeated experience. I much prefer Olive Garden. At least both your wallet and tastebuds are not assaulted.)
