Sounds like quite the tone monster.
I've played it a bit so far and yes, the Darkstars add a whole new dimension/depth to what the already good sounding bass can sound like. The stock pu sounds good, but being a single-coil, it has the hum issue that singles have. But being a Darkstar user/player myself - I've never found that to be an issue. My Teiscobird has only one Darkstar and never buzzes, and my Gojira Fenderbird has two Darkstars and never buzzes. FTR, a Darkstar is also a single-coil pu.
