Thunderbird Club

Hah! - driven/rode (motorcycle) past there many times. I visited there once to hear my 'at-the-time' (evil) gf's dad play in a Dixieland band. I recall eating ok BBQ. Man that was a long time ago and any memories associated with that gf have long since been deliberately stricken from my memory. FTR, in his last days on earth, her father (who passed away w/cancer) agreed with me that my dismay dealing with his daughter was justified. I liked him - he was a cool dude.

I would have visited there about ... '99? Damn - time flys! When are you playing there Chucky? It's a hike from SF, but it would be a trip to hear you there!

Sat, downbeat at 6:30, come on down! bring whatever you need serviced, can return when I get the parts for the build over to you…

Sounds like a possible plan! It would be a nice way to purge the past memory.

If I can make it, can I leave the B-15N head with you @Chucky Stiletti and pickup the JC from @JIO ? If that doesn't work, no problem. Neither are an emergency.

The last time I drove past "The Cats", we were returning from a Bond Girl gig in Monterey ... HW9 is a stretch I've been on many times. Very twisty and in bad weather - not for the weak (aka "bad drivers). Many accidents have occurred on that road over many years. I did it once on my VF500 Honda (motorcycle) at night going to Monterey to participate in a 'track-day' at Laguna Seca the next day. I dreaded doing it but once I was actively navigating it I got into it and had a blast! Most drivers are inept - it's too easy to get a drivers license in the US. (as in: to sell more cars)

We went to the local Buca di Beppo once. Once. Thoroughly unimpressed.(it closed)
It's an expensive, way overrated chain. My non-Italian wife makes far better spaghettini and meatballs, for example. Taste is subjective I know. I had some chicken carbonara there once that was pretty decent. Not worth going for though.

Over 330 posts ago when the conversation was still about whisky, before it changed to clutches and back to Thunderbirds momentarily, I couldn't help but remember this quote from Swingers.

I'll have a Scotch on the rocks, please. Any Scotch will do, as long as it's not a blend, of course. Single malt, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich perhaps, maybe a Glen Gow... . Any Glen.
