black (cigar) instead of virginia (blonde) tobacco…Those things really stink. A German colleague used to smoke those.

I did not read Virginia the first time through.
I don’t know much! But they are trying to get a team of people together so the bells can be rung properly and at all appropriate occasions. The new Church only came into operation a year or so before Covid.
Anyway, the front tower has an old bell that was sent back to the original casting company in England for refurbishing. That’s the main bell, I think it’s a 1/2 tonne bell. *edit: it is a full tonne 1083kg and is tuned to E.
I was at the back tower which has a setup of 8 bells of all different sizes and pitches. You can play them in various methods, they practiced a 4 bell ring yesterday, bell 4 continuous ring last with the other 3 ringing in turn but with their place changing to a set pattern over a turn around of 6? 8?.
One thing I learnt was there is a book published with all the Churches with bells listed. Evidently there is some sort of camaraderie in that a bell ringer will be welcomed at any of the listed Churches and be allowed to have a ring.
this tells what I’m trying to learn (or at least get an idea on)

You've done much better than I in capturing the blue, it's really quite a beautiful sapphire color similar to a Bombay Gin bottle.
