Gig tonight(Saturday, 5/18). 67 NR T-Bird w/#2814 EBCFs>7ender R200c amp. The sound I want[although the 200c was a little much for the room].
Little story here: First, a disclaimer or two. I've been doing R&R gigs since 1968-longer than some of y'all have been around-so I have alotta experience-and a pretty good ear. We had a request tonight for "Start Me Up", which we've never played as a group.(second disclaimer: I like maybe 5 "Stones" songs. This ain't one of them, but I've heard it at least eleventy-seven hundred times). One of our guitarists knew the lyrics, called the key(E, FWIW), and away we went. I can guarantee that no one in the crowd had a clue we'd never played it B4. It will now become a part of our 'act'. We got a very nice tip outta the requester. My point being, since we play for dancing and don't go by a set list but instead "feel out" the crowd-and take requests-we're free to play whatever we think will fly. We're almost always right. I'm not saying "never rehearse"(we haven't for ~a year), but if everyone listens to each other and plays what they've heard on the radidio forever, you can please the crowd. If your group is doing covers, it's likely you'll put your own touches to each song, particularly 'cos none of us sounds exactly like the recording, nor do we have the production tools-such as dubbing-to sound the same. JMNSHO.

Great Backstory…sounds like a band that plays instinctively together plus the tip was a nice bonus!
Any Mona Lisa Twins fans? Wish I could have caught a Cavern gig.
Admittedly, it's an advantage that the audience we appeal to wants to hear [stuff] from the 60s/70s that all 4 of us have played at some point. We don't hafta learn any of the latest 'flash in the pan' top 40 [stuff].
BTW, we do one NY song: "Harvest Moon".
I looked them up and see they cover a lot of Beatles. I liked their swagger and enjoyed the songs! Always rock out to a Beatles/Stones song. Nice share!
Weird gig. Everyone direct, including the house electronic drum set. Seems we played well enough, but not enjoyable. Partly because I was on the floor because of the tiny stage, with people bumping into me on the way to and from the bathroom.

Thanks! I really like performing this song because to me it incorporates the whole band playing, singing, and developing the song. And it's one of the best recent Bond franchise songs. IMO...

Off topic but does anyone here own a car and ever use a “Dent Doctor” or similar to remove small dents and door dings? They use tools to counter impact door dings, small dents, etc.
No paint repairs…out of pocket. If so did you get car repaired and were you happy? Thx!
Back to topic: Ready to install chrome mini-clover hipshot ultralights. Bought a reamer to enlarge tuner holes, stay tuned.

This was done, but you'll be able to discern it after sanding. Not entirely a "bad thing". Wood is wood - layers/veneer are common in furniture manufacturing, and frankly would not create 'negative' harmonic resonances when used for a guitar/bass body. It's a cosmetic thing - makes it look better.
Yeah those tiny stages and member placement can be a rough nite and you’re a left hand player so more vulnerable.
