Thunderbird Club

Here is my take on the discussion about Rush and Neil Young. I like them both! And to my defence, I like a lot of other artists and styles too too, from jazz and blues, to pop and rock, heavy, prog, folk… What I listen too depends on the time of day, mood, background music or ”listen to music”…

And below the proof that I actually enjoy Neil and Geddy:smug:

How do you like the Dimarzio? In the Greco I just got is also a Dimarzio dp122. I have read here on TB in some threads, that that pickup doesn’t sound that good with flatwounds… Then others say it sounds just fine..
I would like to strung my Greco with flats, so I’ll soon find out. And will get the original pup too, so can always change back to that.

I like it very much. I haven't had flats in that bass when I swapped the previous pickup to the Dimarzio (mainly for the looks as both Tony Levin and Dave Myles of Max Webster had similar looking P-basses).
I rarely use flats as I like the sound of roundwounds very much and I also prefer the feel.

Off topic but does anyone here own a car and ever use a “Dent Doctor” or similar to remove small dents and door dings? They use tools to counter impact door dings, small dents, etc.
No paint repairs…out of pocket. If so did you get car repaired and were you happy? Thx!
Back to topic: Ready to install chrome mini-clover hipshot ultralights. Bought a reamer to enlarge tuner holes, stay tuned.
I had a guy who uses them do a good job on a door ding that was ready noticeable on a car I leased once. He had to remove the door panel and go at it from inside. Turned out ok. I doubt I could have done it myself.

Greetings from Ruokolahti, Finland. Hard to believe it actually snowed 2 or three weeks ago.

Look gorgeous!

Our last snow that stuck was four weeks ago (Southern California mountains). We had trace flurries two weeks ago. It’s hot this weekend. Next weekend will be the last time below 35 for the season, but it doesn’t look like we’ll see any more snow until October.

We had so much last year and this year that a couple natural springs have surfaced in our little town.

My P's and J's:

From left:
-Triumph (?Japan, Korea?) P-neck and a no-name J-body with two reverse P-pickups in large covers in 'Lee Sklar Frankenstein' positions plus one OBL J-pickup in 'Richard Sinclair/Hatfield & The North' position). It's in a work-in-progress will-do-something-to-it process...

-70's Fender P-body, Allparts Tele neck, T-Bird pickups

-custom made Jazz with Dimarzio pickups

-Hosco P-body with a '75 Fender P-neck with a refinished (nitro) headstock and early 60's style logo, old Dimarzio pickup

So only one "normal" P.
My P's and J's.

Also, my "pj's"(as in pajamas).

I like it too, with the old roundwounds that are on now, seems to have quite a high output and also the highs are crisp and clear.
Maybe I just keep it like this for awhile..

Folks, check your Sweetwater accounts. I had 2 fraudulent subscriptions added last night for $1500. I also got a notification that my account was in a data breach.

Uh oh.
Good to know, thanks for the heads up.
Who notified you?

What constitutes having an account, is it just simply buying from them?

Many times. Works well as long as no paint damage and not a crease line. Lines are hard to smooth out.

Yes, if you have a log in at sweetwater.com, you have an account. Now, that doesn't mean you have payment type setup. Actually, it was PayPal that notified me. I have that linked to my Sweetwater account and that is linked to my credit card. A couple of layers of protection. I stopped using Sweetwater's credit card as they use Synchrony bank. I had that account hacked a couple years ago and Synchrony was worthless, so I closed that card.
