Are there any contemporary bands maiming T-birds? By contemporary I mean troubling the radio and charts.

As a teenager I loved Marilyn Manson, Twiggy and his T-Bird inspired me to play bass. Then in my twenty's The Kings of Leon were incredible, with a T-Bird right there on stage. Now… I cannot recall seeing a Thunderbird in the wild.

The bass (Rascal) is arriving today. I'm a bit stoked to say the least.

Yeah, but at least at the moment I'm not planning to alter it. Not even with flatwounds which seems to be the "must" thing to do with a short scale basses. The pickups and their locations especially are very interesting and I'm sure it sounds great with overdrive.
Will post soundclips when I get my greasy hands on it.

Now here's a question, when it comes to artists names, do you sort by first letter of the first name, or last name? Is Neil Young under N or Y?

I go by last name, so yes, Neil Young is there side by side with Yes

For mine, Neil is in the Y section. Except the Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, and Stills/Young stuff. For bands, it's the first letter of the band name (without the "The" if applicable).

Yep, that's just how it must be done!

Agreed. Buffalo Springfield goes under B, CSNY under C, and "the" is always dropped when alphabetizing.

I was briefly in Miami twice many years ago - once to do a photo-shoot for TREK bicycles (#38) in Sept 1983 - ad (both as one & two-page format) appeared in cycling magazines in '84. The days of steel-frames, leather "hairnets", toe-clips/rat-traps and skinny sew-up tyres. Definitely a different time for racing bikes. Honestly - the bikes have gotten more sophisticated but bike racing is pretty much the same.

I'm a fan. And spin what I have on vinyl from 40 - 50 years ago. But I don't have the in depth knowledge that I do with Yes, Genises, ELP, etc. I have five or six on vinyl IIRC. They are up at the other house. Can I get back to you on that? They are in my Prog mix on Spotify and I listen to it a lot. Camel is in that same category for me.

To expound a bit more, I am an eclectic. The Beatles. CCR. Dylan. Bowie. Yes. ELP. Genesis. The Boss. Southside Johnny and the Jukes. Buck Owens. The Clash. The Jam. The Pistols. The Beat. The Specials. Rick Nelson. Linda Ronstadt. Jefferson Airplane. Quicksilver. Quake. Blondie. Greg Khin. Al Stewart. The Bangles. The Band. The Avett Brothers. Harry Chapin and even Dan Fogelberg. And of course Neil. And dozens of others. Including my current fave, Nikki and Silversun Pickups.

Family. Friends. Music. Dodger baseball. Fly fishing. That's my life.

Be warned. When I retire, I'm visiting Finland. I will hunt you down. And bring beer. We'll flip discs and talk music for hours.

Your collection is just like mine. All the same names.
I currently have about 2200 CD:s but unfortunately no vinyls anymore, I stupidly sold all some 10-15 years ago, when Spotify was expanding, and I only listened to that. I had 4 meters of vinyls (4*1m shelfs full, don't know how many records that is), and sold all for 3500 eur. Kept the CD:s though, as they didn't want to buy them.
Fast forward to a couple of years back, when I decided to check if my old HiFi is till working, and yes it was. And sounded good. So I then decided to start to buy music again. Wanted back all my old music. But as I don't have the money to buy the collection back as vinyls, I decided to go with CD:s. Now I have managed to get hold on the main part of my old collection, and many more. And there is more to come, constantly looking for new used CD:s.

Back at about that same time frame, my dad was introduced to cross-country bicycles by a friend who lived about five miles away in the rural area we lived in which was about 40 miles south of the DFW area in Texas.

Now I wasn't quite the aficionado that they were, but I do remember that my dad's bud had a Trek frame with a number of custom components, some of whose brand name was referred to as 'Campy' (Campagnolo I believe was the real name)-

My dad ultimately wound up with a Raleigh and he handed me down his gold framed Motobecane Grand Jubilee-

Up until a bad wreck about five years ago, my brother still rode a Motobacane with all Campy running gear.
