I have likely spent more in strings over the years than I made playing. Without question spent more in amps or basses. Could get kind of depressing if you think of it like that. But when you throw in the value accrued from playing....priceless. Definitely an expensive way to have fun.

Try drag racing as a hobby… I don't even want to know how much I've put into the engine. I do know how much I spent on the carburetor

It's cheaper than anything that burns gasoline.

I'm pretty sure most of my cables are Pig Hog. They have thick insulation and are usually molded with strain relief around the jacks.

Got my eye on a 20 footer straight to right angle in Daphne Blue on Amazon- nice colors they have if you want something other than standard black-

The other brands I've looked into are not as easy to find retailers for-

Amazon sells Whirlwind at astronomical prices though-- speaking of astronomical - I saw a 15 ft. Hosa cable with straight to right angle Neutrik connectors going for $ 59.95!

Let's see...before I sold it, several clutches and flywheels, short block, turbo rebuild, injectors, fuel pump, drive shaft, wheels, tires, alcohol injection, batteries, plugs, plug wires...actually, likely shorter list of things I didn't break or wear out.

Did a little research and it appears that the Neutrik connection is a main factor in the price, although it could be that the conductor composition and gauge tie in as well. I say this because Digifliex and Hosa also make cables without the Neutrik connectors that are a fraction of the price (approx. a dollar per foot).

But not ALLLLL gasoline powered vehicles are racing vehicles
You can get mopeds for dirt cheap

my boy and his friends running ethanol in their over 700hp Bimmers…..download a "tune" from the cloud and away they go….crazy sh1t..
