The great thing about an engine bay like that is you can actually see what you are doing, reach everything, have no problems with access to fasteners because there's a lot of untidy plumbing and wiring in the way, no covers that don't belong there, no nonsense. Everything is all organized. The welds look great. Nothing is polished because nothing needs to be polished. It's the visual version of a Thunderbird.

Hard disagree on that. Last cable I bought was a Digiflex 25' (I needed more slack for shows where the amp is pretty far back from where I'm standing on stage) straight to right angle (Neutrik connectors) for $31.24 shipped from Canada, last Oct.

Did you get it from The Guitar Boutique out of Ontario by chance? They're the only vendor I've found thus far, apart from those on ebay, that I've found for online sales of those cables-

Trust me there are some very difficult fasteners in there lol.
I actually welded that fuel cell up myself, so I appreciate you noticing the welds!

Really random thing here, but I ordered an epiphone thunderbird 60s bass and was wondering if the harware was actually nickel or chrome? I always put schaller strap locks on my basses and i want to match. any help would be appreciated.

My drummer (also songwriter, singer, guitarist, audio and recording engineer, producer, YouTuber, and one of the better bass players in Nashville's rock scene) and the pro audio manager at the store they both work in (Concert Musical Supply in Murfreesboro TN) both share a similar opinion on cables and connectors: ProCo for factory cables, Neutrik for connectors (plugs), Switchcraft and Neutrik for jacks. For most jacks, such as output or barrel jacks (booooo) Switchcraft is considered "best". Those guys have been proven right on so many things that I just accept whatever they say as gospel.

Nope. But I made bars for the back of the transmission so it doesn't move back and forth

…no need to cry, it's an easy fix, just pull out the neck stump with water and vapour injections and fix an epi bolt on neck.……should work….if not decorative for your kitchen or anaywhere else….was probably the last thunderbird part Roman (Bach) sold on his website…or ask @Basvarken …

I have a broken VP and an Epi IV neck that I'll be doing that to for a Ii. But the thought of a severed BaCH neck saddens me.

I've been happy with Pig Hog cables. Maybe not "super high end" but they are quality units for a reasonable price

And they come in cool colours.

I have likely spent more in strings over the years than I made playing. Without question spent more in amps or basses. Could get kind of depressing if you think of it like that. But when you throw in the value accrued from playing....priceless. Definitely an expensive way to have fun.
