Plus, it's doubtful 'the guy' played it the same way at every concert. It's interesting to see how some very important lines stay true to the original, and what 'evolves' over years of playing. And that doesn't include personnel changes.
Also, there are some nights the fingers work better than some other nights. Especially as one gets older.:(
 
As do aerodynamics. An AMX is using horsepower to push a brick through the air in a way the Ferrari isn't.
yeah but as with everything, we throw money (displacement in this case) at everything till we come out on top….the Ferrari has a 2.8 liter motor where the AMX has a 6.4 liter motor……"no replacement for displacement" as they say…… in this case it was clearly my lack of an overdrive that settled the outcome…..

Digiflex. Irv turned me onto them. I've been using Whirlwind cables for ages and highly recommend them. Lifetime guarantee and I did use that once with no problem. I tried the Digiflex because I needed a right angle to right angle and Whirlwind didn't make that. Also a fan of them. I like the beefy Neutrik connectors.
Ideally, I want right to right and right to straight, two of each.
 
That's probably true for most of us. Music playing isn't a profit center.
I have likely spent more in strings over the years than I made playing. Without question spent more in amps or basses. Could get kind of depressing if you think of it like that. But when you throw in the value accrued from playing....priceless. Definitely an expensive way to have fun.
 
Ha! I love your ironic turn of phrase- though it was interesting to learn the electro-chemical process that occurs in batteries, stochiometric equations were the bane of my life (in some instances).
I hated biochemistry because there was no stoichiometry. There were no atoms and electrons to keep track of how the reactions occur. Everything seemed to be these to chemicals look at each other then there is a magic and this comes out. But molecular biology sorts all that out. Also, chemistry becomes much easier as soon as you figure out that every reaction is a redox reaction (assuming you can deal with redox).
