It's first show and it sounded great, Chris! It's very crisp and punchy, the pickup placement and strings work very well, it's a joy to play.

My band's schtick is to throw rubber ducks to the audience at the middle of our set. We've done that for five or six shows, and on Saturday night, while watching the bands on before us, between sets a guy came over to me to say, "hey, I'm really looking forward to you guys and the ducks!" While packing up, our fan, a different person, asked us to autograph her duck. First time ever. We were so taken aback we forgot to get a photo of it. Of course, I signed the duckbutt.

That's a weird one. Twice now I've been asked to sign the 7" we have for sale at shows. I make it very clear that I'm not on that recording, but people still insist.

Thunderbucker Ranch pickups, I like them, they sound really good on this bass, I think the positions they're in have a lot to do with it's tone. The strings are D' Addrrio IIRC.
There's some video of Saturday's show that needs some production, may have it to post.

BTW: Semi-random thought/opinion about Ozzie's more recent releases. I get that it's his "style"-or whatever-but Zakk Wylde's seemingly random high notes/harmonics/whatever the eff, are-to me-highly annoying. I realize, begrudgingly, that if a band is gonna cover Ozzy/Black Sabbath accurately, ya'd hafta do those. But, IMNSHO, they don't add anything to the music-they detract.

My main player since I got it has been the red Greco Willy sold me. It stole that position from the burst Greco I bought from Mark, which I didn’t like quite as much. I decided to use the MarkBass (sic) this week rather than just keeping it for backup. I know there was a sonic or playability reason it was #2, but dang if I know what it is now. Maybe it just needed a rest. I still prefer the Willy bass because RED! but blind taste test? Both equally almost perfect.

Well, I’m finally done with the Lake Placid Blue Vintage Pro Thunderbird.
It started in January.
I’d forgotten what a pain it is to wet sand nitro.
It’s my only one set up with flat wounds.I dig it.
The finish buffed out mirror smooth..Sorta why I kept my clothes on while shooting a few pictures. There are a couple of micro scratches that I may re-buff in the near future.I was out of time for the weekend and wanted to get it built to plug in.
The truss rod cover is a prototype until I find the right cover.
Dust flakes do show up well in some of the pictures.
I’ve been kinda slack posting of late due to grandkids,garden and the boat. Not to mention work.
This may be a little bit picture heavy.

Now you just need to buy a White VP and put bicentennial type pickguards on all three - then join a Buck Owens tribute band.

Don't know if I could hang with a Buck Owens tribute band...Do they do any drop D tunes?

The newer Embassy will have the same bridge as the Epi VP/60's/64.
Sometimes you can find them on eBay.
Also Philadelphia Luthier has a very similar bridge/tailpiece:

Thank you. It really does. It's an amazing color in person.
I have used this color for a Stratocaster that I made as a Christmas present for my nephew and a BC Rich bass that I sold.
The color difference between a ‘75 LPB jazz bass and what I used on the VP is clearly visible.
I like the VP shade much better.

Not likely it will because of the measurements from stud to stud.
A lot of us here like that bridge, but it's not compatible with the 2 point mounting measurements as is.
Would require some serious handy work for it to fit.
