Thunderbird Club

And their customer service is stellar. If you need longer or shorter intonation screws, they’ll send them to you. Great company. I never could get the Epi three point replacement to work on my Goth or the Epi Nikki Sixx. I just couldn’t get the action low enough (I’m picky and like it ridiculously low) even after shimming. But I kept it because I anticipate having a use for it at some point.

Oh yah - they are tops at customer relations. Unfortunately post-Covid they have cut-back on their 'custom' services. They used to convert a tuner (yah, I know - related to what their generic interface-couples can accomplish) to their Drop-D machine. Now, they offer a few generic options but no custom orders ~ they did a few really awesome Drop-D's for me over the years.

Well, I’m finally done with the Lake Placid Blue Vintage Pro Thunderbird.
It started in January.
I’d forgotten what a pain it is to wet sand nitro. :)
It’s my only one set up with flat wounds.I dig it.
The finish buffed out mirror smooth..Sorta why I kept my clothes on while shooting a few pictures. There are a couple of micro scratches that I may re-buff in the near future.I was out of time for the weekend and wanted to get it built to plug in.
The truss rod cover is a prototype until I find the right cover.
Dust flakes do show up well in some of the pictures.
I’ve been kinda slack posting of late due to grandkids, garden and the boat. Not to mention work.
This may be a little bit picture heavy.
Cheers to all of my Thunderbird brothers and sisters!

Looks fantastic! Love the color.

Nope. Other than the usual where’s PillO inquiries. Actually, we were all confident you’ld check in once you closed your next deal. Of note is that the Nasty Habbits are sounding better than ever, and Scott found a wonderful guitarist for his Ozzy tribute. Chucky is in Mexico. Again. Glenn finished his project, a fabulous LPB VP refinish. Of course Donnie is still chasing tone. I started a new job Friday, although I don’t think I’ve said much about it. And we were discussing Rics again.

Hope that goes well Marshall!

It’s the impression she (wrongly) thinks I’d try to make. So I’ve been driving Volvos and Subies for the soon to be (this month) forty years we’ve been married. A happy marriage is all about compromises.
At the appropriate time, you could mention that unfortunately you were cursed with being born a chick magnet and have never needed a car then or now to get chicks....I got you without a car.

Might want to ease into that conversation, though. Oh, and timing is important.

Yes, I went to the PillO school of marital counseling. Passed with flying colors...I mean colours.

Confused with Miles?

Thanks Geo. Company I worked for from 2000 to 2010. They sought me. Which is nice. Same employee number, same email address, etc. It was like old home week. I only left because they closed my office for economic reasons and wanted to relocate me. Which wasn’t feasible at the time. Things are different now with remote work that wasn’t available back in the day.

Fits the comfort zone, hopefully until final retirement. A lot has changed. Including moving to tech I’m already familiar with. We’ll see. They have promised appropriate staff support. They onboarded five lawyers to my team last week. Fingers crossed. I’ve sort of been adrift for almost two years with two gigs that didn’t pan out because promises weren’t kept.

If they do what they’ve said they’ll do, and all appearances are that they’re going to fulfill them, it will work.

One thing I found is that if you are a direct customer, with an account, they do what they can. So my suggestion is to buy from them direct.

It's all one can do... and you did a lot! Best of luck Marshall

I’m not Miles.

Really, really good to hear.

And I have projects that are incomplete.

Sorry Will. But that goes without saying.

And I’m there too. Get the BaCH pickup route done. Build the 60’s tribute reverse; I have most of the ingredients. Get the White Epi LE CS grounding sorted. Send a couple PGs and TR covers to Irv so he can make new ones. Get the EPI Blackbird face refinished. And move forward to acquire a couple basses that are out there into the flock.

I’m like you. These things take time.
