I think you'll need to hook that up to your Ampeg Cab and play a Thunderbird through it - I know your neighbors will love it! RAWR!

Almost lost it today. I always use rubber washer strap locks, but not tonight. I had it in the case and pulled it out to play for a couple minutes and didn't put the washers on.
My wife came into the room and commented on the bass. We were talking about how long it is and I was showing her that I really can't even reach the G tuner without shifting position. While my left hand was off the neck the strap came off and the bass was headed to the floor. Concrete with tile. A headstock breaker for sure. I grabbed with my right hand and caught one string! The Thunderbird is swinging in the air by one string. Precarious, but still alive to play another day!

I love the color. And it sounds great. Actually last week I changed the bridge. I was fine with the 3-point bridge, it setup well and worked great. But I had a black Hipshot supertone bridge that came off another bass, and I thought I would give it a try. I've done this before on Gibson and Epiphone basses and I can never hear a difference. But on this one I can definitely hear a big difference. The sound has always been somewhat undefined. With the hipshot bridge its still got that deep sound, but a more articulate or present tone. Hard to describe. But I really like it.

Me too! Every bass has its own strap and they never come off. But, it was in the case to go to the shop tomorrow, and the strap has to come off to fit in the case. I decided to play it for a couple minutes and grabbed it out of the case and quickly put the strap on. I was actually putting on the rubber washer and was having trouble getting it on, so I just slipped it in my pocket figuring its fine for a few minutes. Its going into the shop tomorrow to get bigger side dots. It has small black dots that I can't see at all on stage. I'm getting larger white ones installed.
I hear ya. Wasn't being critical. I made that decision based on experience. Never quite hit the floor, but close.

Took my '63 Burns of London Vista Sonic to BG rehearsal tonight. I think I did so once before, but I have never played it live. Wow Bob Wow - the bass sounded amazing. Flats (LaBella if I remember correctly) w/a pick and on the "Wild Dog" setting 
(rewired to sound good)... just reversed two wires so it wasn't out of phase. Plunky, defined and warm - even our drummer noticed and liked it! I have a feeling I'll be bringing it to our next show. Many classic '60s British songs were played on a Burns bass.
This was recorded in 1969 on a Burns Black Bison bass - (same 3-pu's/location, same electronics - only the body was different from the Vista Sonic) great bass-line, great playing, great tone.
