Anybody here ever check out Fanos? I've heard good things, and supposedly all done in house at a small shop in AZ. This one has kinda got my attention.

Although, I didn't know what all that crap on the back is supposed to be.
TV Silver Custom Shop?I don't post here very often. But I do have a Thunderbird, and love playing it.
Almost lost it today. I always use rubber washer strap locks, but not tonight. I had it in the case and pulled it out to play for a couple minutes and didn't put the washers on.
My wife came into the room and commented on the bass. We were talking about how long it is and I was showing her that I really can't even reach the G tuner without shifting position. While my left hand was off the neck the strap came off and the bass was headed to the floor. Concrete with tile. A headstock breaker for sure. I grabbed with my right hand and caught one string! The Thunderbird is swinging in the air by one string. Precarious, but still alive to play another day!

40 noodles with a wet lash.40 lashes with a wet noodle.
TypicalYes. But its as green as green can be. Not a bit silver.
This is why each of my 5 basses has its own strap that only comes off for servicing, either by me or at the shop. Glad you saved it.I don't post here very often. But I do have a Thunderbird, and love playing it.

Yup. When I started using washers I decided to make them semi-permanent and get a strap per bass. This is why each of my 5 basses has its own strap that only comes off for servicing, either by me or at the shop. Glad you saved it.![]()
Me too! Every bass has its own strap and they never come off. But, it was in the case to go to the shop tomorrow, and the strap has to come off to fit in the case. I decided to play it for a couple minutes and grabbed it out of the case and quickly put the strap on. I was actually putting on the rubber washer and was having trouble getting it on, so I just slipped it in my pocket figuring its fine for a few minutes. I hear ya. Wasn't being critical. I made that decision based on experience. Never quite hit the floor, but close.Me too! Every bass has its own strap and they never come off.
