Jep, each of my basses have always deserved their own strap, that never comes off.This is why each of my 5 basses has its own strap that only comes off for servicing, either by me or at the shop. Glad you saved it.

Reorganizing my music room tonight and I realized I have enough nice straps to put one on every bass. I've never done that before, but that's on the agenda for the next week or two
My '21 NR is a reach to the G tuner as well when strapped on, and I'm 6' and have corresponding arms.
No such issue here.

Glad you caught it, but it probably wouldn't be the end of the bass.
That's a good mod. I've done aluminum side dots on a few basses.
I had a fair amount of difficulty getting it to sound good to me (used to a '64 for decades, which it does not sound like at all), but @Chucky Stiletti here recommended LaBella Black Nylons and that seems to do the trick. It was not far from being sold. Love how it plays--95% as good as my '64. Wonderful to play.
Yeah, I saw that one when I went down there.
My 67 NR lost the serial #[519096] at its first repair back in ~78. It's had other issues and it was played/worked 6 nights a week for 8+years so it has its share-and more-of dings. I'm quite certain it wouldn't bring $13K+, even with my custom PG.

Many years ago my '64 II was leaning against a wall and slide down to the linoleum floor. I think butter-side down. Luckily it suffered no injuries. No bullet-proof Fender, but they are sturdier than they are given credit for.
That’s a relief! The ‘14 LE CS TV Silvers have the nice thin and fast Gibsonesque profile neck so there’s a very good chance it could have snapped. That’s a wonderful Thunderbird!

A rather lovely moss green and still aging, wonder what color it’ll finally settle in on - darker green, blue green, yellow green, pale green?
I have a spare chrome Hipshot and was thinking about installing it on this bass. If it adds more definition without sacrificing the lows I’m all in.
Probably one of my favorite Bond Song/music videos in the modern Bond era (post Roger Moore). Well, that and Skyfall. …and Golden Eye. As for vintage Bond theme songs (Roger Moore and back) I like Goldfinger, Thunderball, Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better.
