Casadys dive pretty hard with that huge headstock and the stock tuners. And I'm guessing with the change to a mahogany neck, they are more prone to breaking.Cassady's too? Go Epi!

As much as a year or two earlier than declared bass build on parts bin items is perfectly normal with big shop brands. Lots of inventory to burn through. The watch out is anything newer than the declared date being installed.

Good catch. Interesting. He is pretty on top of things. Been a high-dollar dealer for a long time and is a bass player himself. Very knowledgeable in my conversations with him. Seems like an odd mistake for him. Given his prices, it seems low for such a rare bass, broken or not.
Being curious, I looked at Fly which said since Gibson stopped producing the reverse body in '65, it was unclear if any were made before '66. No way of knowing now with no SN.
He's a good guy. I bought my BC Rich from him. I'm getting deja vu.
As you were playing and was thinking how it was classic Motown, and then you said it. Man that thing sounds good. No, great. Even from a phone.
I was thinking while watching the vid how extremely fortunate we are to have such an expert like Dr. P look at and fix things. Beyond being just a good dude, he's a true treasure. His expert knowledge is only exceeded by his kindness. His playing is way up there as well, but I don't know where that fits in the ranking. Three-way tie, I'd say.

And for the record, I have never been in one--but I did turn around in a parking lot once many years ago.
