Thunderbird Club

This segment is during "The Spy - In the House of Love - by the Doors" We play it in both Bond Girl & TSC. It's basically a blues, and because of that lends itself to extrapolation during the instrumental break via improvisation. This live snippet from last night is not the best example of my improvisation abilities. It's not bad - I just know I've done better. It was a full moon tonight and that always f's with me, or at least it has the last couple days...

Here's (thankfully) a pro-recorded version with a better bass extrapolation for me. Different drummer and singer, a second guitar (w/Bond Girl) - I never play that the same passage (2:39-3:50 - basically a bass solo) twice - so capturing a good take then was... relieving.

Thanks Dave - I wish all watching it now could have heard my bird singing in person (yesterday full-moon night)... it was rumbling the stage! (Link Wray reference...;))

This player doesn't have great timing/feel or technique but nails what a T-bird can sound like - only a T-bird can sound like that.

Told you I suck but no one ever believes me or you all are too kind :p

And yes, @JIO had that '64 working last night. I wasn't in line with the 15 but was still getting punched in the chest. Yet, the sound was just creamy low end.

Could have fooled me. It all sounded good.

I had a small incident at the start of the gig last Friday. It was so sunny that I couldn't see that the octave pedal and the overdrive boost were all on plus the boys in the band had fiddled with my amp, turning it basically full on. Here's a pic of me playing the first note:

...it was actually just a very windy day..
