I could have sworn someone here had bought that not long ago.

I sent 4K out the door for the falling down tree this month.......So I'm not buying.
 
I play with a drummer who has a Slingerland kit like that. His is a '64 and is champagne sparkle instead of blue, but looks very similar otherwise. It has a ride cymbal mount on the kick drum like yours. His kit would sound a lot better with new heads and if he tuned it, but that is not how he operates.
Drums are interesting that way. Even a cheap kit can sound good with new heads and tuning, as long as the bearing edges are flat.
 
Nice except for the edges where the wings meet the body. My eyes would get drawn to that every time I picked it up.
Yes, it did look a little rough. But I sure love the blue. At first I thought it was that way at th butt of the neck as well. My '76 is pretty deep where the wings meet. It might look like that if not refinished carefully.
