Something like that. A little class D amp or I was thinking a pedal that emulates an amp like Ken uses.

But then of course, you need to know which amp would work.

I’ve seen people raving over the cheap little Joyo amp pedals. They are guitar pedal afaik but I have heard of bass players using and liking them.

I'm hoping my little Ashdown (class D) will eventually work for the two basses that I'm not thrilled with. It's a nice little amp. And LOUD. Genzler makes a pre pedal that also has....H/LPFs that would be promising--and a bit pricey. But I'm really not wanting another pedal. I'm complicated!

I'm not either and really don't want another one. If I knew one would be the magic bullet, I'm openminded.

It's like a F-150 Engine and Expedition forum. They have used it for some time. It looks more modern, has more "stuff," but isn't easier to use. At least not yet.

That ship sailed long ago for me. ‘98 Navigator was the single worst car I ever owned. Even worse than the ‘77 Sirocco which was horrible.

Why do you say that?
If any part of your frustration is the slowness, I'd expect that to go in away in a couple of days, as V noted. There's a ton of data migrating until the new site is caught up.

Long term I'm not sure how the truck or the Expedition will do. So far I'm more than happy with them. Even the truck rides fantastic (Lariat with a high package level). The Expedition is the best riding vehicle we've owned and takes off like a sports car. Time will tell if I have regrets. But I do really like the massaging seats on the Expy on longer drives.

Last week I had some fun converting a cheap short scale plywood monster into something which felt less like a toy.

It started life as one of THESE

Mid to late eighties, Korean made thing. Got it for 40 Euros. Mine is Vester branded, but you can also find them with Hondo, Cort and a host of other brand names on their headstocks. Now that stock body had some issues, it was delaminating and felt so darn small.

Now I happen to know some really cool people and one of them gave me THIS as a birthday present.

And I was looking at the Vester bass and that body and coming to some conclusions...

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Yeah, I admit it, it's not the neatest job, but I had fun and it plays and sounds so much better now.

Yes and thinks. I agree. They kind of do their thing and if that's what you like it works and if it doesn't in some setting (i.e. with some bass), it just won't.

I was looking at this from GC. Seems cheap for what it is. I don't need that many watts.
Any thoughts on these? I understand the ABMs are more clear/less warm than the cheaper MAGs. True in your experience?

I keep thinking about the EVO II 500 here in the classifieds. Not that I want to replace my Ampeg--unless something else works better for everything. I'm not that loyal to a brand. But maybe my little RM-300 will do the trick. Sure it nice and portable.

I think you’re right about better image quality.

Hopefully I can go back to just coping a pic and pasting instead of saving and then loading to TB. That would be nice to do that again.

I’ve always loaded from saved stuff.
But I prefer to save it first then load here.

I played one once in a shop years ago. Don't recall the model or the cab it went through. Apparently it didn't make much of an impression at the time. Who knows what bass I even used. I lean toward anything that is big and warm sounding.

I don't need more watts from the 900 in the link above, but that seems a really good price for the difference. Most of those online used are a fair amount more.
This is in the classifieds (asking $475). UK made, but that may make no difference.

My mistake was buying it instead of leasing it and trying to keep it to 100k miles. It developed the dreaded F150 electrolysis problem and kept eating freeze plugs. Ford wouldn’t fix it. We ended up towing it to the Honda dealer and getting a Pilot. The Navigator was a total POS. From the plastic window hardware, to the wipers that never worked. NEVER AGAIN. EVER.

Frankly, nice as the Genzler seems to be, and Andy Fields designed it, you really should try the basic Broughton HPF/LPF filter. I’m sure if you bought one, and weren’t happy with it, you could sell it to one of us.
