Thunderbird Club

I admit to being Darkglass curios.
They're not for everybody as they tend towards a more modern tone, but the distortion voicings are optional (and extremely variable, from a little bit of fur to screaming) and they do have a good clean tone too. They're perfect for what my band does.

My drummer may be getting a fill in gig on bass and be on the road for about a month. Thing is, he got rid of all his bass gear a year and a half ago, so some of mine will be going with him. He's probably gonna take my Peavey MiniMax, but I think he oughta take the DGMT.

Definitely not for me then. Good to know.

Hi all you Thunderbird Gurus,
I'm thinking of buying this Epiphone Thunderbird, don't have any info on it but have not seen one with control knobs in that configuration. Has it been modded?

It's been several years since I sold it, so I don't recall the exact layout change, but I had a ETBIV that my local (then) squeezed a Tone Monster preamp into that necessitated moving the output jack to one of the other control holes. Mine was (IIRC) master volume, pan pot, bass and treble. There's very little room in a TB electronics cavity so it required quite a bit of fitting to get it in there. Sounded really good, though.

You think you’ve got problems ? 🤣

Giant crocodile climbs fence in horrifying clip

A visitor has captured the jaw-dropping moment a giant crocodile begins to climb over a fence at an Aussie wildlife park.
Where’s Dundee when you need him?

It is likely a standard IV with a mod. Those are the standard Epi pickups. Maybe someone added a preamp like the old Epi Pro used to have. The Pro came with a different bridge and a 1.5 nut. That pic looks like it has a 1.72 nut. Either Korean or Chinese.
Edit. I just took a closer look at the pickups. They are not the standard Epi pickups.

Your hunch is correct. Not the original three knob control layout (should be vol/vol/tone). Also, the pickups don’t look original either, and in fact might even be offset in the pickup route incorrectly vs centered. Unless it’s dirt cheap ($250 or less) I’d pass on this one. There’s plenty of pristine Tbird stuff out there in the $300 and up category.
I just took a closer look at the pickups. Couldn’t tell on my phone. You are correct. They could possibly be Artecs.

Nothing like scorpions besides other scorpions.
I absolutely hate scorpions. We occasionally had one (usually outside) at our subrural house in Georgia, but we had so many at our previous house here - out in the hill country - that we named the place Scorpion Ranch. The worst was the summer we found at least one scorpion a day inside. My wife and kids all got stung; I was more paranoid about the things, but even there only luck saved me a couple of times. We have only seen one or two (outside) at this house in 25 years.
No nears. Coyotes, foxes, hawks, skunks, falcons, etc. Just harmless (to humans) snakes in our neighborhood, AFAIK, but newer neighborhoods a mile or two away routinely have rattler sightings.
However, I did sight five Thunderbirds just a few minutes ago. Would that be a pride of Thunderbirds? A raucous of Thunderbirds? A rumble of Thunderbirds next to my thunder of Fender Rumbles?
We have seen a Condor here.

Woke up to find this unwelcome visitor walking around in the shower. This is the third we have found in the shower in under a year. I would rather find them there were they can't climb out than when I walk around the house in the dark. We have avoided being stung so far, and I would like to continue that way.

Move to Kentucky. We have fewer things that want to kill you.

Fun fact: scorpions glow in black light.

Tell me not to move to Arizona, without telling me!
Western Washington just doesn't have the all the bugs other places do.

We do have Birds.
