Thunderbird Club

I saw that when it first was posted. Way too much for that condition (especially the wrong pickup), IMO.
With the new Gibson pickup, I suspect it still sounds amazing--given it's likely in/close to the correct location. (Unlike Gibson, which can't seem to figure out where they should actually go. I know, I've beat that dead horse many times before.)

Probably, but still a good bit of the Greco value is in the pickup.

Show your Shoes Sunday…

NR report from Sunday. Strung it with an old set of GHS Pressure Wounds (Ken got me thinking). Back to sounding pretty good. Possibly not in the sweet zone yet, but WAY better than before using the little Ashdown. I only wish I had time to tinker with the EQ more. I only have a little bit in between some songs to try an idea and that's what it is for that song. I will say the Ashdown is making the NR enjoyable to play and not frustrating like before. I'm very curious what the Ashdown ABM 500 will do when it gets here. Might be able to use it next Sunday if it arrives later this week.

Funny you mention those. After hearing the Pressurewounds in the mix at band practice on Fri., there's a tonal quality in them I don't love. Since the Carvin has a Hipshot Type A bridge on it, it's easy enough to swap strings back and forth. I put back on the Power Wounds and turned down the treble on the preamp and they sound more pleasant to my ears.

Definitely not always great match for everyone or every situation. At least you got the opportunity to confirm what you like and want to hear.

Some here know I’m a fan of @bylar13 ’s band Poppy. This is from the band’s FB page. They’re joining @BklynKen ’s band in Brooklyn on the 21st. I so wish I could be there. Take a lot of pics @JJR58.

“Sunday, 7/21 we travel North, as the shepherds wander in the summertime, to the far off borough of Brooklyn! Its a 4 PM matinee show, at Mama Tried with The James Rocket and Ghosts of Past Mistakes. There is no cover and if the weather cooperates, we will be playing outside. What more could you ask for?!? Well... a lot really but your not going to get it anyway, so you might as well just come out to the show and have beers with us and we can all ponder our futile existences together!”

It's gonna be great!

There will be pics-o-plenty.

And Chuck has got a great gig the same day where we all met for the first time.

Best and Beast coast do their thing on 7/21.

Glad you got it sorted for a reasonable amount. I'm sure the dealership has their reasons for taking the approach of replacing a whole assembly rather than cleaning a corroded connector, but that stuff drives me crazy!
Yep, I’m not hating on them. I know that’s the way things are done now.

But it drives me crazy that we are ok to just throw good stuff away rather than fix them.

We are of a fading generation my friend. It started with having to buy new computers every three years. Then new phones every two years. When was the last time you saw a TV repair shop? I started leasing my cars ten years ago. Get rid of them before anything needs to be repaired.

Guys like @Chucky Stiletti and @Miles_ONeal who know how to fix amps are treasures.
