I did not know this.
Still doesn’t make me a fan of his.
But he’s laughing all the way to the bank.

I like my two '76's a lot, they're really different from the other iterations that Gibson produced, likely because the pickups are such a different design and coupled with the original Series wiring. They are there own thing in my estimation, a thing I happen to like a lot under the right circumstances. Mine are both nice players, the wood work is good, the 3 point functions very well too and doubt that I would ever change it out for something else. They're both a little heavier than my newer or older Birds but not by much. I tend to wear my basses a little above my waistline with my right arm on the upper bout and that seems to be my preferred position and thus don't have "neck dive" issues.
They seem to be going up in price over the past few years (being over 40 years old helps) and maybe are a bit more appreciated for the unique bass that they are, as opposed to being compared to the '60s Birds.

This one is wired like the contemporary versions, I'm seriously thinking about rewiring it back to original this winter.

I have been tempted to rewire my ‘77 to std parallel, just to hear the difference, but never have.

Isn't that most of the year up there?:smug:

Not really, we just want people to think that so they don't move here.
Honestly, a 70 degree day in October here is a splendid event.

Today we'll have 91 degrees 39% humidity and CAVU.

Turns out I'm now a 10 year veteran of TB, and I've reached Level 28. I have no idea what reaching level 28 means, but I did it.
Ok, now you need to check the 10yr square (arrow found under your avatar/handle opens list) and get your groovy trophy icon! I don't know what Level 28 is either... I'm at level 29 ???

She was my 1st grade teacher.
My first grade teacher was named Miss Sweet. She might have been, but I thought she was terrifying and old. She was probably 25 (old as dirt) and had a bee hive hairdo. She didn't look like Lotte Lenya.

Second grade: Mrs. Sweet
Third grade: Mrs. Wood and Miss Hall (we all had a crush on Miss Hall)
Fourth grade: Mrs. Ball

Blacklick was all about short, to the point, names that were something else, too. Very creative.
