I posted a few pages ago that I'm back to using the NR for the community concert band-at least for this concert, 8/20. The director even commented on how good it sounded at Tuesday's rehearsal. Cool. The EBCFs give me such a range of tones. Love 'em. On another topic, the PB whiskey is certainly no Jameson's or Glen Morangie, but for someone who's retired on a fairly fixed income(and damn few gigs ATM-it's the off season here), the booze has one very appealing factor. Twenty bucks for a liter. (whatever that is in real measurements)

One liter is about a half a mile.

I only use a few basses between two bands live but primarily because I rely on a predictable end result sound/level/tone wise. The bass that is the most flexible usually gets the gig.

As a former member of USN, I kinda lean the other way.

I liked when we visited Gulf Shores. We would visit the Naval Air Station museum in Pensacola. Also home of the Blue Angels. You would often see them practicing. Cool stuff.

Here's another track from my "Music in the Key of Geo" CD project that K engineered/produced. All tracks from different bands that I played bass on over a number of years. He approached me one day and said - "you need a collection of music you played on". (out of the blue) Who was I to argue!?
On this song, K had already recorded Belinda Blair's song minus a bass track. My goal was to provide that. I channeled Tony Levin as that's what the song signaled to me.

But I am genuinely glad you enjoy it. Or it's effects.

I try to take two that have similar qualities, and either should be able to do the whole show, that way I can get most of them out of the house

I have found that a few drummers I've played in bands with rejected 'craft' beers in favor of beers like... Budweiser. I just always thought it was a "drummer thing" ... but.., I totally understand Mike for favoring inexpensive libations based on balancing the budget - and once doing so is happy with the result. It's pretty rational really - why tempt getting used to something unreasonable financially?

That's a great museum. A few examples that are the only ones left.
