Nice! So they're modeled after the TB+?
It’s unclear which Gibson Thunderbird they mean. I’ll test and review after I get them installed. No guarantees what that will look like or when.
For the price, I figured I could take the chance!

You don't play with the bass hanging low, right? The 65" Dunlop straps work well for me. I wouldn't mind if they were slightly longer but they work well enough. Even 62" straps are a bit annoying.Dunno. Didn't measure. Long enuff(that's what she said
I used to play with it lower. I also used to be able to stand while I played. Now I gots to prop my fazaza on a stool 'cos of my bad kneeses and feets. Can't hang it quite as low.
The undersides of these look more like their "Eric Custom" pickups with ceramic magnets than they do their "vintage Thunderbird" pickups with AlNiCo magnets. The price is also more like what I'd expect from ceramic.
Meanwhile, their Vintage Thunderbird pickups are on sale ($50 vs $70 each). Not much of an upcharge for gold; I'm guessing just a few atoms thick. They've got a pretty good selection: Invalid Link Removed

That explains all the Blue Angels merch at the gift shop. I love the Angels. But I love the USAF Thunderbirds more.
As a former member of USN, I kinda lean the other way.
I figured as much. Recall I spent my formative years at Vandenberg.

Here's another track from my "Music in the Key of Geo" CD project that K engineered/produced. All tracks from different bands that I played bass on over a number of years. He approached me one day and said - "you need a collection of music you played on". (out of the blue) Who was I to argue!?
On this song, K had already recorded Belinda Blair's song minus a bass track. My goal was to provide that. I channeled Tony Levin as that's what the song signaled to me.

Seattle has a long history with the U.S Navy, this week is "Fleet Week" a tradition that easily goes back to the 1920's if not before. There are Unlimited Hydroplane races on Lake Washington this weekend and the Blue Angels will do a show, but their practices are just as cool as the race over the city and surrounding area.
The Thunderbirds usually visit McChord Field south of Tacoma as part of an airshow there, I've seen them several times as well.

I think I mentioned this before when you brought up Vandenberg - but I raced a bicycle stage race (3 events) there in the late '90s. Back when I was a 'lean, mean, bike-racin' machine'.

A very familiar icon for me living just outside of SAC Headquarters in Omaha Nebraska, and my father being a Captain/pilot of a B-25 at the end of WWII in the South Pacific. I posted a few pages ago that I'm back to using the NR for the community concert band-at least for this concert, 8/20. The director even commented on how good it sounded at Tuesday's rehearsal. Cool. The EBCFs give me such a range of tones. Love 'em. On another topic, the PB whiskey is certainly no Jameson's or Glen Morangie, but for someone who's retired on a fairly fixed income(and damn few gigs ATM-it's the off season here), the booze has one very appealing factor. Twenty bucks for a liter.
