It was a signature model designed by a Japanese pop bassist in collaboration w/ESP and visually based on a Fender Bass V baritone guitar. Actually the strap is a brand called "Ovation".., but I doubt it relates other than (same) name to Ovation guitars/basses. But then, I could be wrong...

I thought I might be wrong once but it turned out I was mistaken.

Here's another same vintage re-fin Bird for much less, but w/o OHSC if that's important to you. As someone who owns one ('64 OHSC) - only valuable as an investment... the case sucks otherwise.

Funny how a little thing can make one's day (can you say it like that?). This made mine yesterday.
I noticed that some guy had purchased my whole output on bandcamp site and then noticed he has a radio show. I politely asked if he had plans to play a song on his show and he wrote back he had already played one. There it was right after The Pretty Things and before Silver Scrolls.
Needless to say I'm not very used to radioplay.

Funny how a little thing can make one's day (can you say it like that?). This made mine yesterday.

Actually, we’ve discussed it a lot over the last three years. Current prices make that one worth considering now and it may even be a bargain these days. I’ve considered it, primarily because I’m a Watt fanboy. But I have other more pressing wants.

Yes, Trace and Ashdown are connected.

The company was founded in 1997 by [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], a chief engineer and managing director at Trace Elliot. When Gooday was let go by Trace Elliot's then parent company, Kaman, and prior to Kaman closing the doors to the UK distribution and factory facilities, he had been planning to start his own company. The company was named 'Ashdown' after Gooday's wife's family name, and the logo was constructed from this, his passion for cars and the Austin-Healey motor badge.
